Why the FLITElab RAW Board Rips for Prone Foiling
Flite is best known for its eFoil range, but this year they're also introducing an unpowered board known as the Raw. It's all about focusing on what's going to get you in the waves and ripping. Cole got a chance to have an early ride on it. How did it measure up for him?
What's the Raw Board Like?
The nose of the board is fairly wide. This gives you somewhere you put your hands for easy pop-ups, and the added volume lets you paddle in very efficiently. The concave toward the tail gives y

Chris Reynolds Reveals the Details Behind FLITELab's AMPJet System
Cole had a chance to test the new FLITELab boards and meet up with designer Chris Reynolds. Chris was kind enough to take an hour out of his day to do an on-the-beach interview with Cole and provide some in-depth insights into his long-awaited board, jet, and foils. It was an interesting journey to get from concept to release, and we think it's well worth the watch or read. Many thanks to both for getting this info out there!

What's the Difference Between Foil Drive and FLITELab?
First off, what are they? Both are foil assist products meant to help you get up on foil and then turn off so you can do your thing, though the Foil Drive can be ridden as a full-time e

FLITELab AMPJet Overview with Evan Netsch
Cole had a chance to meet up with Evan Netsch from FLITELab in LA to check out the new RAW and AMP releases. There's been a lot of curiosity about these, especially the AMP. It's sort of an eFoil, but it's in a class of its own. What is it, how does it work, and who is it for?
What Is the FLITELab AMP Board?
The AMP is a board with a cavity for a jet cartridge in the rear. Having the propulsion inside the board leaves your foil completely clear of any sort of propeller, so there's zero dr

Foil Drive | From Humble First Sessions to Consistently Catching Waves
Ryan and Cole recently experienced the Foil Drive for the first time, and they have some thoughts they'd like to share with anyone wondering if a Foil Drive is right for them, and what to know and expect.ExpectationsCole: What did you think about Foil Drive before you got your hands on it?Ryan: I was thinking the Foil Drive might be more like an eFoil where you kill the prop. There are some eFoils out there that have folding props, but your motor's still down in the water and they're a lot

Axis Skinny vs. Progressive Stabilizers
Ryan and Cole talk about some new Axis stabilizers, who they're for, and why you might want one in your setup.
Ryan: A lot of times, the stabilizer choice gets overlooked, but it's a great way to upgrade your foil or change some characteristics about it. So today we're going to look at the Axis Progressive series stabilizers versus the Skinny series and what some of the differences are that you're going to notice when you switch back and forth between the two styles.Axis Skinny Series S

Wake Foiling | Should I Be Using Foot Straps?
Some wakefoilers use footstraps and some don't. Which way is right? Should you use straps on your hydrofoil?
New Riders
If you are new to foiling, I do not recommend wearing straps. Falling is part of the game when it comes to learning how to wakefoil. It's really important that, when you take those first couple of falls, you get as far away from the board as possible. Straps can prevent you from doing so, so to stay safe while you're still learning how to hydrofoil, don't use straps.

Foil Drive | Choosing the Correct Motor Cable Length
There are five cable lengths to connect your Foil Drive unit to the propeller. How do you choose the best one for your skill level and riding style? For most riders looking to get into prone foiling, wing foiling, or to practice pumping, and even downwind, the 10in length is perfect. We'll explain why below.
Cable Length Options
Foil Drive offers the cable to your propeller in 5 lengths: 6in/15cm, 8in/20cm, 10in/25cm, 23.5in/60cm, and 27.5in/70cm. The shorter the cable, the more likely the pro

Foil Drive | How to Mount Your Mast in the Best Spot
Does having a Foil Drive make a difference on where the mast should be positioned in the track for the best experience when prone or flat water foiling? It does, and finding the best spot may be easier than you think.
The short answer is to mount your Foil Drive all the way to the back of the track. It may seem like the weight being all the way in the back is going pull that end down and lift the nose too much, but more important than weight here is leverage.
By moving the pivot point as far b

1. Plug your charger into a wall outlet. (Although we used an extension cord for the video, it's always better to plug it directly into the wall.)
2. Check to see that the light on the charger is flashing green.
3. Remove the yellow cover from the battery contacts and plug the charging cable into the port on the battery, taking care th

There is an app to change the settings on your Foil Drive, but what if you don't have your phone handy? Maybe you're already out on the water and you want to dial in your maximum power setting for the conditions. Fortunately, it's easy to do right from your remote.
1. Power up your remote if it isn't already on. The power button is on the side of the remote and has the typical power icon. Hold the power button for a couple seconds until the remote powers up.

Foil Drive Tips | Which is the Best Hydrofoil Front Wing for Me?
Are you using the best front wing for your Foil Drive setup? It's hard to generalize wing recommendations with so many skill levels and sizes of riders, but we've developed a pretty good understanding of what works for riders 200lbs or less on a board around 5 feet in length and 50 to 90L of volume, and Cole is going to share that here.Wings Under 1000 cm2
A wing smaller than 1,000 cm2 is going to be very difficult to get up on foil because of how fast you'll need to be going to get enough li

Wake Foiling | Pick 5 Challenge with Cole
The "Pick 5 Challenge" is a series that acknowledges the reality that most of us are on a budget when it comes to gear. Today Cole from MACkite accepts the challenge and chooses the 5 pieces of gear he would use to maximize his fun all summer if that's all he could ride.
Boat
The first piece of gear that I'd pick up would be a boat. Now, I don't care if this boat is a wakeboard boat that costs a couple hundred thousand dollars or a fishing boat. As long as this boat has a rope and can get me u
