Waydoo eFoils | Swapping Your Remote Trigger

This is Pat with MACkiteboarding.com, and today we're going to go over how to replace your Waydoo remote trigger. From time to time, sand can get jammed in the trigger, or the spring on the trigger itself might corrode after a while. It's a pretty simple process to replace the trigger with easy step-by-step instructions.

What You Need

  1. Your Waydoo remote controller
  2. A replacement trigger that you will find in your tool kit
  3. A number 2 Allen key

What to Do

  1. You'll need to remove the rubber grip from the remote. To do this, unscrew the leash attachment at the end of the handle and set it aside. Now you can slide the grip right off the handle.
  2. Once you have your grip removed, you'll see one Allen key bolt that was hidden underneath it near the trigger, plus two more in front of the trigger. These hold the cover of the trigger in place, so you'll have to remove all three of those. Once they're out, you can slide the plastic cover off to expose the trigger assembly.
  3. You'll now be able to see if there is any sediment or sand blocking the trigger, and you may be able to just rinse it out. If it is still getting stuck, you can go ahead and remove the trigger from the unit.
  4. There is just one screw holding the trigger in place right in front of it, so go ahead and unscrew that. Now the trigger should lift right out of the remote by pulling it straight out. You can inspect it to see if the spring in there is rusted. If there's any sediment in there, you can rinse it out.
  5. If you need to replace your trigger, a replacement came in the tool kit with your Flyer One+. Make sure that the trigger opening is free of any debris, and then you can go ahead and put the new trigger in place. It just drops right back in.
  6. Secure the trigger with the same screw you took out of the old one. Make sure the trigger cover is seated properly, then secure it with the other three screws.
  7. Slide the grip back on, making sure it is seated all the way, then reattach the lanyard bolt. That will hold the grip in place.

Just like that, you have a brand new trigger installed on your Waydoo Flyer One remote and you're ready to get back out on the water!
