Ryan & Hunter's Code Integrated Foil Drive Mast Review
Ryan and Hunter have been using these for a little while now, and after Code took some time to dial them in just right, the team has been really stoked with the result; check out the breakdown, who's it for, and its features.
Base Plate Features
Starting at the base plate, there's a slotted hardware channel for mounting to the board. The slot makes it easy and seamless to drop the split bolts in — great for quickly swapping the unit out, instead of fiddling around trying to line up a sin

For 2026, Cabrinha is covering both ends of the spectrum with an all-new board and a returning, but refined favorite. The Quest is their first dedicated downwind board, and the Code is their do-it-all winging platform.
Tucker and Jeff from MACkite got an early look at both. While they're waiting for the lake to warm up a bit before heading out to get a full review, the direction is

Code Foils Origin Story | Brothers, Friends, and a Shared Obsession
At its core, Code Foils was never about chasing market share, trends, or hype. It was about making equipment the founders genuinely wanted to use themselves—and trusting that if it felt right under their own feet, others would feel it too.
Code Foils is an Australian-owned hydrofoil brand founded in 2022 by a team of passionate foilers.
That philosophy echoes a sentiment often attributed to legendary producer Rick Rubin: if you create something you personally love and believe in, succe

How Fast Can You Learn to Foil Drive? Hunter Lukes Has the Answer
Foil Drive is one of the most amazing tools in the foil surfing world. By adding electric assist, it helps new riders get on foil without the endless paddling or tow-ins traditionally required. For experienced foilers, it opens the door to new ways of connecting waves and maximizing sessions.
Recently, our friend Hunter put his teaching skills to the test by introducing his friends Jack, Jack’s dad Matt, and later Jack’s brother Luke to Foil Drive. What unfolded was a two-day

Session Impression: Two Guys, Three Sessions, and Loads of Gear
Jeff is back for another session chat, this time with Skip. What did the day bring, what gear did they take out, and how did it go?
How Were the Conditions?
In West Michigan, windy days can be few and far between during the summer. We can get thermals that pop up for a few hours in the afternoon on sunny days, but genuinely windy days are a rare treat, and we finally got one. Jeff got up before dawn to catch an early session and arrived at the beach to be greeted with 27-32 knots from the

Code Foils Mast Guide | 75 vs 80 vs 85cm for Wing, Surf, Kite, and Wake
Introduction
Mast length is one of the most important, and personal choices a foiler makes. It determines how high you ride, how stable you feel in chop, how much lean you can throw into carves, and how easy it is to get started in shallow or tricky water.
Code Foils simplifies the decision with just three length options: 75 cm, 80 cm, and 85 cm. Each available in both High Modulus carbon and the stiffer Ultra High Modulus Plus layup. This streamlined lineup avoids overwhelming choices, while s

Session Impression: Wing Foil and Parawing in Small Waves
Jeff and Ryan went out for a session together in Muskegon but had very different experiences. Ryan was on a wing, while Jeff opted for a parawing. He's had a couple hours on parawings, but it's still a new skill for him, while Ryan had never used one before. They'd originally planned to swap gear during the session, but the conditions weren't ideal for parawinging and Ryan decided to wait for a better day to give it a try.
What were those conditions like, what did each of them ride, and h

Code Foils 1250 R | Built for Glide, Momentum, and Flow
Tucker's been on a lot of different foils at this point, so it takes something pretty special to get him excited. The Code 1250R High Modulus front wing is one such foil. Tucker has dubbed it the "Monster Glider Setup" when paired with the long fuselage and the 151R stabilizer, and it does indeed let you fly like a pelican for miles with almost no power, whether that's wind, wave, or pumping.
Design Features
The 1250R has a wide span of 1275mm (50.2in), a very high aspect ratio of 13.0, and
