Slingshot Code V1 Review
How's it going guys? This is Dustin and Pat from MACkiteboarding.com here to talk to you today about the new Code V1 from Slingshot. We're really excited about this kite, so let's get into it.

Slingshot's all new Code V1... super, super stellar kite. It's been a while since I've gotten on a Slingshot kite and immediately felt in tune with it. It's a three-strut superstar. It's going to be awesome for every genre of kiting out there. It's really the all-around kite: master of none, but will do a little bit of everything. It's in the same market as the Eleveight RS, the North Reach, Cabrinha Moto... that three-strut all-around kite that's fast-flying, super light in the bar, a good, all-around fun kite.
How does the Slingshot Code v1 fly?
Honestly, this is probably the best kite Slingshot's come out within a couple years now. I was genuinely surprised.
Bar Feel/Pressure: As soon as I got on it, I noticed the bar pressure was super light, but you can still tell where that kite is in the sky. It wasn't one of those kites where it's light to the point that the kite disappears and you don't know where it is. I still knew where the kite was. I was able to get in the waves with it. It's got decent drift to it, and awesome, huge, lofty, long jumps.
Loop it: It's surprisingly fast-turning through loops. Even with the 14 meter I was still able to get a couple of loops in. I wouldn't call them legit kite loops to where it was catching you, but it was fast enough to actually pull a full loop.
Relaunch was pretty stellar: quick and easy. It's the kite that I'm actually excited about for this year. It's fun to ride; I had a really great session on it. I think it's a kite that anybody from any genre can hop onto, from beginner to expert and everywhere in between. It fills the gap for everybody.
Size range: It runs 4 through 14m, so whatever size you're looking for, it's going to be able to accommodate that. You can really customize your quiver of kites with that and get it to fit to what you need for your local riding conditions.

Pros & Cons of the Slingshot Code V1
Pros of this kite: Really fast-turning, maneuverable, light bar pressure.
Cons: It has a tendency to backstall a little bit if you're oversheeting it, but only if you're really reefed in on it. My other con would be the leading edge size. I wish they tuned down the diameter just a little bit. But for a version one kite, it's absolutely stellar. I can't wait to see where this kite goes. It'll be great to see how this kite develops over the years.
This has been Pat and Dustin with MACkiteboarding.com talking about the Code V1. If you have any questions about anything, email or call the shop. Thanks guys
