Cabrinha Quickloop vs Modular Control Bar System

Cabrinha Quickloop vs Modular Control Bar System

Hey everyone, I'm Evan Netsch. We're here in Hatteras, North Carolina. I want to give you a quick run-through on the two Cabrinha loop options that we offer.

We have our traditional Quick Loop and we have the newer modular and both of these, I think, have their specific purposes for yourself as a rider depending on your riding style and your preferences.

So real quick, let's just get into the breakdown of the differences between these two and and who might enjoy different aspects of each one.

So first off, right here we have our traditional Quick Loop. Quick Loops are available on any of the Cabrinha bars: Recoil bar with the spring, Trim white bar at the cleat, big bar, small bar. The Quick Loop is something Cabrinha's had for a long time and it's what I find I use probably the majority of time. I think it's the most popular with a lot of people simply because it's been in the market for a while and it's just foolproof. It's simple and it works well. It's a simple push-away quick release. Your chicken loop opens up. Very easy reconnection. Your QR can sit on this catch, so if you push it up and block sideways it'll sit upright.

That way it does make it a nice easy one-hand reconnection.

The harness line is a little trick that I think a lot of people don't know, but this harness line right here is actually available in a few different sizes. This is the middle size. You can get a larger harness line if you're looking to unhook and do freestyle, or you need a smaller harness line if you have shorter arms and maybe you have trouble reaching your trim strap on the bar.

This is the Quick Loop bar. It opens up easily to be attached to a rope slider harness. Obviously, it's a standard chicken loop, and I think for the majority of the riders out there, this is your simple go-to solution. Nice, easy swivel above the loop for unspinning your center lines, and it's just one of those that's been in the market for a long time and has proven itself.

More recently

Cabrinha has come out with their modular system. They came out with a modular system because, I think, as the sport was evolving, people were finding there's a lot more connection systems to your harness and there's a lot more reasons to use something slightly different if you're riding in the waves, if you're foiling, if you're doing freestyle. I think a lot of riders enjoy a lot of different aspects of riding, and some sessions they might be on a rope slider harness, other sessions you might be unhooking or letting someone else use your bar, your kite, and you want that traditional chicken loop. Or perhaps you have the Fireball system. And so what Cabrinha wanted to do is just make one system that's very easily interchangeable between different connection options to your spreader bar.

So for myself, I found that I normally use the modular system with this rope slider clip right here. So if I am riding waves I am using a spreader bar.

This is a very nice, simple, clean, short, easy connection system and it works really well. And of course it is metal; it's not a PU tubing, so it slides much nicer. Now, I think a lot of people probably are purchasing this bar simply for this piece because they want a really good dedicated rope slider harness, and it works great for that sole purpose, but I think a lot of people also might be a little bit scared to get a bar that's fully committed because someone else might use your bar, or maybe you're not always on a rope slider harness. And that's also the beauty in this bar.

So all you have to do is undo your Quick Release. You can take off your rope slider clip, your Fireball, whatever it might be, and switch in between and put on a new connection. In this case you've got a chicken loop, or you can easily go back to your rope slider clip or whatever it may be. So very nice interchangeable.

We do have multiple size loops. This is actually the larger loop.

There's a smaller loop as well for most people who are just riding hooked in most of the time, but this is just that really nice bar that gives you that ability to easily swap the modularity--modular bar as it is called--for different connection points. So I would say if you are a rider who's riding primarily on a rope slider harness, I would seriously look at this because this is dedicated for rope slider harnesses. It works well; you're not going to wear it through harness lines, and that is what it's built around.

So check out these bars on MACkiteboarding's website, on Cabrinha kites, for more information. If this was helpful, hit that like button, feel free to subscribe, and see you guys on the water next time.
