Testing the 2026 Cabrinha Nitro with Kauan Grubert
The Brazilian Brothers are back with a very special guest: Kauan Grubert, the 14-year-old Brazilian prodigy. With the wind is absolutely nuking, and they tested a very special kite to test — the 2026 Nitro from Cabrinha.
Intense Conditions and Big News
At the time of testing, gusts were already pushing 40 knots. Kauan only had a 9m Nitro that day, and at around 50kg, he was looking at a seriously overpowered session. While he was on the water, the team also got some big news from his family: Kauan is now an international team rider for Cabrinha. He has a bright future ahead of him, and the Brazilian Brothers are stoked to see his success.
Kauan's Session Feedback
Kauan described it as a really overpowered session with quite a bit of gust, but he had a lot of fun. He says the 2026 Nitro is now his favorite kite. After a couple of weeks on it, he shared his thoughts on the performance and how it handles the heavy wind.
What's Changed from the 2025 Nitro?
Comparing the 2025 Nitro to the 2026 Nitro, the biggest change is the second lift. When you loop the kite and it catches you, you get that second lift — which makes it easier to add rotations and board flips, and to push your level overall.
The kite catches you smoothly and lands you softly. There's very little yank through the loop, but clearly a ton of performance on tap.
Who's It For?
Kauan recommends this kite for anyone wanting to improve their Big Air level. It loops very easily and is a friendly kite overall. It's a kite for riders like Kauan, who are charging the biggest tricks, but it's also a kite for "mortals" who just want to progress through their boogies and kite loops.
Summary
The 2026 Cabrinha Nitro got a serious stress test in this session, with 14-year-old Cabrinha team rider Kauan Grubert taking a 9m into 40-knot gusts at just 50kg of body weight. Despite being heavily overpowered, Kauan walked away calling it his new favorite kite. The biggest 2026 upgrade he highlighted is the second lift after a loop: the catch that helps you stack more rotations and board-offs into a single trick.
The bigger picture is that the new Nitro is a friendly Big Air kite at every level. There's almost no yank through the loop, the catch is smooth, and the lift is there when you ask for it, which means it works just as well for prodigies pushing the cutting edge as it does for everyday riders working their way through boogies and their first kite loops.
