Designer Notes - Cabrinha Double Agent

The all-new Cabrinha Double Agent has taken the foilboarding industry by storm. Now, one of the most well-known kiteboarding companies has created a board that conveys two functions: a foilboard and a wave, directional board. While jargon may be shown throughout this video, no words can describe our utter fascination and excitement over the Double Agent.

Why we're stoked about Cabrinha's Double Agent:

  • The Double Agent has a twin tip construction, which is unique for foilboards. Made in their twin tip factory, the Double Agent features an A-grade Paulownia wood core, Polyurethane side walls, and Volcanic Basalt fiber lamination.
  • The Double Agent is light, yet robust.
  • The board comes complete with (2) 100mm and (2) 75mm GFN Fins, perfect for playing in the waves.
  • The wing construction is similar to the twin tip, making it incredibly durable, and the low aspect ratio lets riders get up and riding easier. Riders will feel a more natural, easier start with the Double Agent as well.
  • Riders can choose between a two- or three-strap riding style. Cabrinha recommends using the three-strap style for foil riding, which will make it easier for jibes and tacks. In wavier riding, two straps can be used.
  • The mast is constructed with Aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum shaft and fuselage.

What MACkite has to say about the Double Agent:

"The all-new 2016 Cabrinha Double Agent proves to be quite the entrance to the ever-expanding hydrofoil market for Cabrinha. Although the price point lends the Double Agent to being an "entry-level" foilboard, a quick session on one from the perspective of experienced "foilers" would say otherwise. This two-timing tech tool allows for lightwind sessions beyond the typical "lawn-mowing" kind. Living up to it's name, the board can be ridden separate from the foil as a surf-skate shape, adding to the capabilities of the Double Agent. The board is constructed of A-grade Paulownia wood and Volcanic Basalt fibers, with PU rails for added durability. The all-important mast and fuselage is made of aircraft grade extruded anodized 6061-T6 aluminum, keeping things lightweight, stiff, and durable. The wing, comprised of the same Paulownia and Volcanic Basalt as the board, has a high aspect ratio allowing for the optimal speed and control."
