Will it Float? A Beginner's Perspective on Wing Foil Board Size
How Many Liters of Volume Will Float Me?
One question on every new winger’s mind is how many liters do I need in my wing board? Will it float me? Can I get away with a smaller size? Can I get one board to learn on that is small enough that I will never want to upgrade?
105L Wing Foil Boards and Up
I’m an 185lb rider (add 5-10lbs with neoprene) that rides exclusively in freshwater. At 185lbs, what I have found is that a 120 liter board is buoyant enough to be very stable and easy t

Wing Foiling—How Hard Is It to Learn?
“Is wing foiling difficult to learn?”
That’s the very first question most people ask before deciding whether it’s worth the effort or if they should scrap the idea and just live vicariously through a few YouTube videos of Kai Lenny doing superhuman things. While I can’t answer that question directly for you, I can shed some light on my experience learning to wing and the “do’s and don'ts” of the learning process.
Like most people working at a kite

F-One Strike V2 Wing Review - Best of 2022?
Hey everybody, welcome back to MACkiteboarding Wing Wednesdays. I'm Tucker and today I'm going to tell you all about the new F-One Strike v2 for 2022.
This has been a really hotly anticipated wing this year and there have been lots of questions about it. With the success of the v1 and how great of a wing that was, to say that the standards were really high would be an understatement. I think, more than anything, people have been scratching their heads, wondering how F-One was going to make t

F-One Strike V2 vs. V1 Wings - Worth the Upgrade?
Out on the water riding, the experience, how the wing delivers power, what kind of power it has, what it's best suited for, how the stability is, how intuitive the wing is... I think that's really what makes a phenomenal wing and makes one stand out from another. Because there are so many in the industry now, it can be hard to pick. The Strike v1 made a name for itself by having that lift. It wanted to lift you off your feet, drag you downwind, and create that momentum immediately. It's

F-One Strike V2 vs. Duotone Unit V2 - An Icy Cage Match
Being a cooler than typical winter here in Michigan, I’ve been jonesing for a session far too long. Fresh new goodies were just sitting unused like a pile of visible regrets. After hunting for weeks for an opening in the ice, I was finally blessed with a pool which was large enough to ride in. Furthermore, the weather was actually nice at 40 deg air, 34 deg water, and sunshine.
I’ll have some more formal video reviews coming in the next few weeks but wanted to get the info out ASAP for those

Compression Bags for Your Kiteboarding and Wing Foiling Gear
When I first came across kite
compression bags, I didn't immediately see the value in them. After several years of using them as my daily driver, I have a whole new respect for how they improve my kiteboarding and wing foiling experience.
Compression bags offer upwards of a 50% savings in your gear space, deter would-be thieves, and keep the "Accounting Department" at bay. I'll explain.
Kite and wing
compression bags are typically made of lightweight nylon with a draw-cord closure and

What Do Wing Foilers Do When Their Lake Freezes Over?
Ice, Wings, and Speed Freaks!
Recently, Michigan has had a two-week spell of cold temperatures and very little snow which has set perfect conditions for black ice on our local lakes. This past summer I learned how to wingfoil and was looking forward to using the wing sail on the snow with skis. I have 10+ years of experience snowkiting on both skis and a snowboard and the thought of mixing it up and using a wing piqued my interest.
Each winter I am very excited about my first snowkiting session

Winging Gear choices - Going too small
As Jesse shows in this video, being overly optimistic and overconfident is a common failure of experienced foilers and windsport enthusiasts when getting into wingfoiling. It leads to frustration, bad gear choices, and unnecessary difficulty in this new sport. I’ve heard countless similar stories from customers and pro riders alike. Slingshot pro rider and designer Brandon Scheid hated winging at first, but now he's hooked. That’s partially why it’s so exciting: everyone has

3 Things to Consider When Buying a Wing Foiling Hand Wing
Should You Use a Wing With or Without Windows?
Safety and visibility are a couple of top priority issues for wing foiling. If you will be riding in a popular area with lots of other people in the water, you should probably get a wing with windows. The last thing you want to do is crash into another wingfoiler, kiteboarder, kitesurfer, surfer, or paddleboarder and wreck their day.
If you’re riding in an area where you aren’t dealing with many other riders out there on

Represent, yes! I actually was on Liquid Force for eight years prior to this. They went out of business, I broke my wrist shortly thereafter, and so I wasn't stressed at all about finding a new sponsor b

What Size Wing Foil Board is Right For You?
Let me guess—you’re brand new to wingsurfing and wingfoiling and you want to get the smallest board you can possibly ride? Board volume is your friend. No matter which way you slice it—beginner wingsurfers, wingfoilers, and wingboarders will almost always appreciate more board volume than less.
More volume equals more stability, which leads to quicker success on the water.
