The Best Kites for Learning Freestyle - Sessions w/ Rygo Vlog 02
The Best Kites for Learning Freestyle
Hey guys! As I promised I'm going to write about my current three favorite kites for learning freestyle. Now, just because I favor these kites doesn't mean there aren't a lot of other great kites that offer similar benefits. I’m going to write about these as well.
As I said, these are the best kites for learning freestyle. I know some of you are going to start shouting about C-kites and I’ve addressed this before. Check out my video on the top

2018 North Evo Vs the 2017
We’ve had a lot of requests for a solid review on the 2018 North Evo and how it compares to the 2017. I can’t say I’m surprised there is very little content beyond the basic brand notes on the 2018 Evo. I’ve been really curious to compare these two kites myself, but it definitely took me some time, to say the least!
The reality is that this kite has become a completely different animal designed to meet the same end, yet with a new approach. It’s rare for a kite to

Board Report: 2018 North Pro Whip CSC
OK, I’ve officially found my favorite kite-surfboard of all time, and it only took me 18 years. Ha!
Nah—seriously though, you’ve got to have a look at the NEW 2018 North Pro Whip CSC.
This little blaster will have you grinning from ear to ear the first time out. I’ve spent a bit of time on the North Nugget and the North WAM, but the Pro Whip is my jam!
The first thing you’ll notice is how light the board is. North utilized bamboo and carbon in this board and

Testing the 2018 North Evo with Danny Barnette
Sessions Blog - Testing the 2018 North Evo
For the 2018 North Evo, I really had to put in the work to get my review right. In most of my previous videos, I'd already had years of experience testing the gear. Demand was high for this review and I was struggling to get any real information on the kite. I decided to get as much time in on the kite as possible and take notes on my sessions. The problem was I only had a 12 meter and the conditions never seemed to line up. I had tested the kit

How will my kite work for foilboarding?
Foilboarding is the newest and fastest growing aspect of kiteboarding, without question. The rapid advance of riding styles and equipment is a hard thing to keep pace with. As a result, we get a lot of questions. Since most of the people getting into kiteboard foiling are already kiteboarders, a popular question is, “How will my kite(s) work for foiling?”; A legitimate question! The kite you have/choose will have certain advantages and disadvantages for your riding and

Kiteboards: Carbon Vs Wood - Versus w/Rygo Ep 10
Part three in our kiteboard comparison series.
Wood and fiberglass boards.
These tend to be heavier but more, durable, and damp. What I mean by damp is that they absorb the vibrations from chop much better than their carbon counterparts. This means you’re going to have a more comfortable ride even in those locations with choppier water.
The response and feel of the boards is obviously going to vary from brand to brand and model to model however, there are some basic concepts to con

Kiteboards: Small Vs Large - Versus w/Rygo Ep 08
The last few weeks, I’ve been experimenting with topics deviating away from kite comparisons but I haven't forgotten that they are they bread and butter of our Versus series. It’s been quite busy around here, with that said, I’m making a point to get ahead on these videos. On top of that, I’m trying to escape the cold and log as many hours as possible on all the gear we carry so I can produce these for you guys.
Next week, I’ll be heading down to Mexico to star

Kiteboards: Flat Vs Rockerd _ Versus w/Rygo Ep 09
This week, we’re going to break down the difference between flat boards and rockered kiteboards.
Last week, we got started with our first kiteboard comparison. We broke down small boards vs large boards, as well as choosing the right size. This week, we’re going to get a little more tech and break down the difference between flat boards and rockered boards.
We’ll also finish up this series next week by breaking down construction materials like wood boards vs carbon boards. Le

C-Kites Vs Everything: Versus w/ Rygo: EP03
We’ve been getting a surprising number of requests for C-Kite comparisons. The North Vegas vs the North Rebel, The Cabrinha Chaos vs the Cabrinha FX. With that said, I’ve decided to first do a video focused specifically on all C - Kites in general and who they are for.
There are three types of people riding C-kites right now.
Riders who have been using them since the early days of the sport when they were the only option.
Riders who are competing in the PKRA and making a living off

Let's Chat: Getting Into a Front Zip Wetsuit w/ Tucker
Let's Chat: Tucker's Explanation on How to Get Into A Front Zip Wetsuit
Getting into front zip wetsuits is all about technique. I can get into my front zip 6mm just as quickly and easily as my 3mm back zip wetsuit (maybe faster since I can find the zipper easier). Even if it takes you a little longer until you get the hang of it, the benefits of front zip suit far outweigh the negatives. Back zips leach cold water in and warm water out, they also limit the stretch of the suit.&nbs

How to put a Dakine Option spreader bar on a Dakine harness
The Dakine Option spreader bar is an awesome option for kiteboarders looking for more freedom in their riding.
The option spreader bar is a new offering on the market that combines the benefits of a rope slider bar and a hook.
You will have the option to choose between the two.
Riding with the hook
Using the hook is similar to a traditional hook and will work very much the same way. The only real difference here that that it will rotate up and down. You can also remove a nylon stra

How to use the Cabrinha Overdrive Bar
In his first episode of "How Tues", Tucker goes over the Cabrinha Overdrive Adjustable Control Bar with Recoil and Fireball. Wow, that's a mouth full. Fortunately the bar is easier to use than it is to pronounce.
Cabrinha kiteboarding has quite a few bar offerings and for some, particularly new riders it can be a little daunting. Fear not, it's actually easier than you think. In this video Tucker breaks down how simple all the Cabrinha Control Bars are to operate.
Let's start with the Ca

When it comes to the 5th Element, you'll want to know a thing or two before going out and trying to relaunch. Our main North-tweaker, Aaron Johnson, gives the skinny on t

How to put a Fireball Spreader Bar on a Ride Engine Harness
Hi, this is Tucker from MACkiteboarding.com, and today I’m going to show you how to connect a 2017 Cabrinha Fireball Spreader Bar to a Ride Engine harness. Here we have the Hex-Core Ride Engine, and the first thing we did was strip the rubber plastic tubing off to expose the strap. This is what we’re going to need - doing that is not super easy and getting it back on is even harder, so we wouldn’t recommend doing that unless you’re really planning to put this on for a wh
