How to put a Dakine Option spreader bar on a Dakine harness
The Dakine Option spreader bar is an awesome option for kiteboarders looking for more freedom in their riding.
The option spreader bar is a new offering on the market that combines the benefits of a rope slider bar and a hook.
You will have the option to choose between the two.
Riding with the hook
Using the hook is similar to a traditional hook and will work very much the same way. The only real difference here that that it will rotate up and down. You can also remove a nylon strap and use the hook on the sliding rope. Make sure you remove the strap completely when electing this option or the hook will occasionally catch on it. This option will give you a lot more flexibility on the water. This will be particularly beneficial to kiteboarders looking to play in the surf or who would like to get creative with the extra flexability in the air.
Riding with the rope.

You can also opt to remove the hook completely. This does take a little bit more work but it will give you a smother more seamless feel as the chicken loops slides along the rope. I've provided detailed instructions in the video posted above on how to do this.
Attaching your spreader bar.
The spreader bar will instantly upgrade your harness. Replacing the piece in incredibly easy. Regardless, I've put together a brief how to video showing how to do this step as well. You can check that out here.
