Reedin Space Agency with Nick and Pat

Reedin Space Agency with Nick and Pat

Pat Taylor from MACkite is with Nick Baines of Reedin at the 2023 King of the Great Lakes Test Fest checking out the new Space Agency. What is it? Who's it for?

Nick: We're really excited to launch this board this year. In the past, we've only had two twintips: the Kev Pro and the Super E. The Kev Pro is for those guys that like to ride fast and boost huge, and then the Super E is for your more beginner/intermediate rider. It has a softer ride and cruises through chop easily.

But now we have the Space Agency, our carbon board. It was actually designed by Colin Schweigert who is from right here in Muskegon, Michigan. We really like this board. It's extremely lightweight for people who want to ride really fast and push the limits of the sport.

Not only does it look beautiful, but it rides extremely well. I've been hesitant on using a lot of the full carbon boards as my personal board throughout the years because they're stiff and can make your knees hurt, but this board actually has really good flex and rides through chop extremely well. It's channeled out on the bottom so that when you're landing from those big 20-meter jumps, or even if you're doing your first jumps, the water's displaced through these channels and softens your landing.

Nick: This board has a good rocker line, so it's not completely flat. It rides through the waves and the chop extremely well. We also reduced the weight everywhere that we could with these little milled out areas. We kept the stiffness where you really want it in the center of the board, but the tip flex is extremely nice.

Pat: It's a great board. I rode it out at Hood River while we were at the event. It's surprisingly good in the chop. Usually I'm a bit nervous with carbon boards, like you said, being a little stiff, but it flexes really well and rebounds quick, so that's the nice thing. I feel like you guys got a good balance with the stiffness, but with the flex when you want it.

Nick: Exactly. When you load up and pop, you really feel that spring off the water so you can boost to the moon on it. If you're just going out and freeriding, it's not going to absolutely destroy your knees.

Nick: These boards are all made in Poland, so it's high-end European construction. Our factory over there is able to produce boards really consistently, so they're not coming out a little thick or thin from board to board. Priced at $1079, you can't beat this price for a European full carbon board. The best way to check it out is to head to MACkiteboarding, get one, and get out there on the water.

Pat: Thanks for checking out the Space Agency. If you have any questions, let us know and we'll get back to you.
