King of the Great Lakes
Kitesurf Competition

Pere Marquette Beach in
Muskegon, Michigan

October 3 - 5, 2008

This years KoGL is set to be the best ever!

In this the 8th year of the event, we have moved the event back a month to October 3, 4 & 5 to ensure consistent windy conditions and warm waters. This later date will also allow the riders to demo the 2009 gear as it is just being released.

Naish will be there with a full set of '09 Torches, Helix and Cults. Here's just some of what you can expect from Naish:
- The Torch is back with a vengeance. 5 Line and better than ever. Low end and BIG air are back
(So are board offs :) )
- The Helix has been completely reengineered and looks to be the kite for next year.
This is not based on hype but on feedback from Ben and Nick.
- The Cult will more dialed and refined from this year, especially the larger size turning speed.
- Boards will be wood core and snowboard construction, same smooth ride from year but considerably
lighter in weight. Those of you still riding the '06 Orange Sol can finally switch.

KoGL draws all the Midwest riders as well as many pros to the event annually. The event will be held at MACkite's new location, the MAC shack, on the Pere Marquette beach in Muskegon, MI. This year's format has also been changed to be a free ride competition with the riders deciding the outcome. Whoever pushes themselves and the sport the hardest will walk away with the title "King of The Great Lakes" as judged by their peers. Also this year, a course racing event is in the works for Muskegon Lake.

This year's event will have something for everyone. Join in on a massive down winder, ride in the shelter of the pier, or just hang out and watch the crew throw down. Whatever your style, this is the event not to be missed this year. The kicker is ready to roll!
