Ride Engine Moon Buddy 5.0 Review
The moon buddy comes in many sizes but the 5.0 is a great next level wing foil board.
The first thing to note is the graphic design. Nothing to do with performance but I have to comment on visually appealing this board is.
This board has a screwed vent plug. I do wish they had an automatic vent like many other brands have implemented but it's not terribly inconvenient to manual do it before and after your session. There are good options for strap inserts but I find that I prefer to ride straple

Wingsurfing Light Wind Pumping Techniques
Light wind windsurfing / wingfoiling can be challenging, to say the least. Like kitesurfing, it takes a great deal of time to develop the skill set. The biggest challenge in light wind foiling is simply getting up onto foil. A well-practiced wing pumping technique, paired with foil pumping skills, is going to make all the difference. For this quick tutorial, we're going to cover the skills needed to pump maximum power into your wing. Right now, I find that with these techniques I can add

GoFoil NL and P180 Ride and Review
We're going to cover the NL & P180 from GoFoil. Here's what you can expect, and what the advantages of choosing one versus the other are.
What you can expect
NL stands for "next level". They are designed for the highest level riding, meaning if you want to go fast, get the most pumping performance, and are looking to get the most performance out of your high aspect wings, these are going to be a good choice.
This is from the P series and the P stands for "pump". If you are into downwind ra

Cabrinha Crosswing X2 Review
We were able to get our hands on the Cabrinha Crosswing X2 for testing this month. Right out of the gate, it's clear this is an upgrade from the first gen Cabrinha wing which, to be honest, was our least favorite. For the second generation, they have done their homework and made a great competitive wing.
The wing has a lot of power for its size. I had the chance to test this on a gusty inland lake with lulls of 14 and highs of 25. When pumping the wing, I found there was a lot of cons

F-one Phantom foils - S.F. Joe
My Moses 633 had been my favorite foil of all time until I started riding the FONE Phantom 1080 (no, they didn't pay me to say that but they did give me a free t-shirt and hat)...
I kite foiled the Moses 633 for 2 solid seasons and compared every other Moses foil against it. The 633 was always my baby, always my go to foil in sketchy or sub-optimum conditions. I worked thru the gammet of stabilizers for it - starting at the 483 and moving down the 450, 425, 421, 420, 330, 325 and finally ending

Naish Ultra Carbon Wing/ SUP Board Review
The Naish Ultra Carbon Wing/ SUP board started off as a SUP board in previous years. However, it became far more popular with wing foilers. So, for 2021 Naish made some modifications to adapt to this new sport. Including new sizes from 40 liters to 140 liters!
I’ve been using the 85L myself. At 195 lbs this is the perfect do it all board for me on. This would be ideal for someone around my weight that wants an intermediate to advance do-it-all wingsurf board. It worlds well for me in a v

Airush Freewing Review
This summer, I’ve been using the 4 and the 5m Airush freewing. These are solid chunky wings with some surprises up their sleeve. They are medium to low aspect wings with a not so large wingspan that makes whipping and flipping them around a breeze while doing more advanced maneuvers. The graphics are basic and clean with a mature look that I think are kind of cool in its own right. The windows are quite large and they sit really far forward on the wing.
Windows are not all that useful to

Slingshot UFO Hydrofoiling Kite Review
Is it an airplane, jet, or weather balloon? To many conspiracists’ delight, what we are looking at is a real UFO. Rather than an “Unidentified Flying Object” that you would see at Area 51, we are looking at Slingshots strutless kite known as the “Unlimited Foiling Object.” This is Slingshot’s only strutless kite in their lineup, and one of the few strutless kites in the market today. Due to the fact that it is so light and completely dedicated to foiling, it

Relaunching a strutless kite - Slingshot UFO, Maui Cloud
Strut-less kites require some special techniques and finesse to re-launch. This quick walk through experience will help you explore some options for re-launch if you are struggling. As we have said before, we recommend playing with these kites in shallow water before embarking on any offshore routes so you can get comfortable and experienced with their re-launch.
Malcolm Crennell, an experienced foiler passed his thoughts along to us and we thought it was well written and true

Wing Surfing Basics Learning your Wing

Fanatic Sky Wing Review
This spring we’ve been fortunate to test a few new wingboards. In addition to my past favorites, the Naish Ultra SUP 110L, 95L, and F-one Rocket Wing 5’4 the Fanatic Skywing 5’4” 95L has also stood out as a next level wing foilboard. Perfect for riders of most levels, it’s nimble, easy for learning (at light to mid weights) without making performance tradeoffs once you are more advanced. This has been my go to board for a few weeks and something tells me, it&rsq

Slingshot Slingwing V2 Review
Slingshot was awesome enough to send us the new Slingwing V2. Being on quarantine I had plenty of time to session the beaches near my house. Lucky for me I live in a quiet beach town up north and it's still so cold, our beaches are empty. Like hydrofoiling, foil wings are evolving fast! We’ve had a lot of time on all the different styles and we’re very excited about the new developments on this second generation wing from Slingshot.
The 5.4 is my choice at 200 pounds&n

Joe's Moses 590, 683, 695 comparison experience
Joe is a longtime customer of ours from San Francisco and a Moses foiling fanatic. I think he actually owns nearly every wing in their lineup. We love talking shop with one another so he is going to guest host a few blogs since I'm too busy at the moment. I think you will all enjoy his infectious stoke and sometime's brutal honesty.
Warning: this is more of a personal expose rather than an equipment review...I take back everything I've reviewed about Moses foils! Background: Thi

Wing Foil Fridays: Ozone Wasp vs. F-One Swing
Wing foiling has officially taken off. This new and exciting sport is really resonating with riders from SUP, surf, kite, wake, wind, and more. Right now knowledge is limited or skewed and choosing the right gear is necessary to have a good time. Building off of our first wind wing comparison video and blog about the Slingshot Slingwing, Naish Wing Surfer, and Duotone Wing Foil, this blog will detail the differences and benefits of the two most popular wings in the market right now, the Ozone Wa
