Slingshot Crisis Review
The slingshot Crisis is a mid-range / entry level twintip kiteboard from Slingshot. In my experience, the board rides similarly to other boards in this category: it has a medium flex, mild rocker and takes the middle of the road in every aspect. It's aimed at new kiteboarders, but has some performance that experienced riders would appreciate.
The board has a wood core and lacks upgrade features like channels or carbon stringers. It doesn't have as much pop as, say, a freestyle kiteboard

Slingshot Formula V1 Review
The
Formula V1 kiteboard is an exciting addition to Slingshot's lineup. Their kiteboards have long been known to be heavy duty and provide a distinct damp feel on the water. The Formula couldn't be further from the rest of their kiteboards: extremely light and snappy with a race car like feel. The Formula V1 is a completely different animal.
A Kiteboard with Speed and Snap
The Formula V1 kiteboard is so snappy and poppy you just want to jump as soon as it hits the water. I hate making

Slingshot Asylum Review
The Slingshot Asylum is the board I was using when I first started progressing in kiteboarding. If you watch older reviews, you know I used to rave on Slingshot kiteboards. In recent years I've branched out and covered many other brands, but I always seem to come back to Slingshot. They have been making kiteboards and wakeboards for over 20 years! Needless to say, they know how to build them properly.
The Asylum is a freestyle board in the range, but that shouldn't scare big air riders or

Slingshot Phantasm Review
This is a project that has been in development for years and has a lot of R&D into it.
I have my hands on the 633 version the larger free rider or even wing foil wing.
Fist up, the kit comes in a high end travel case that keeps everything organized well inducing reenforced wing covers that won’t wear out like previous iterations. This all comes included with Hardware, a tool and some lubricant.
Heads up this doesn’t use the standard m8x25 board mounting hardware. You’ll ne

2021 Slingshot Sentry Bar Review
The new Sentry bar is a welcomed upgrade for Slingshot. I’ve been using their bars since 2013 and while they were making welcomed changes, like above the bar depower and a functional swivel the core design of the bar hasn’t changed all that much.
So What's New?
Softer Bar
The new bar is soft. This really stood out to me. We now have soft molded ends, a soft grip, coated center lines. The older bar was cool because it was so simple but there was a lot of hard plastic. I found

Slingshot UFO Hydrofoiling Kite Review
Is it an airplane, jet, or weather balloon? To many conspiracists’ delight, what we are looking at is a real UFO. Rather than an “Unidentified Flying Object” that you would see at Area 51, we are looking at Slingshots strutless kite known as the “Unlimited Foiling Object.” This is Slingshot’s only strutless kite in their lineup, and one of the few strutless kites in the market today. Due to the fact that it is so light and completely dedicated to foiling, it

Relaunching a strutless kite - Slingshot UFO, Maui Cloud
Strut-less kites require some special techniques and finesse to re-launch. This quick walk through experience will help you explore some options for re-launch if you are struggling. As we have said before, we recommend playing with these kites in shallow water before embarking on any offshore routes so you can get comfortable and experienced with their re-launch.
Malcolm Crennell, an experienced foiler passed his thoughts along to us and we thought it was well written and true

Slingshot Slingwing V2 Review
Slingshot was awesome enough to send us the new Slingwing V2. Being on quarantine I had plenty of time to session the beaches near my house. Lucky for me I live in a quiet beach town up north and it's still so cold, our beaches are empty. Like hydrofoiling, foil wings are evolving fast! We’ve had a lot of time on all the different styles and we’re very excited about the new developments on this second generation wing from Slingshot.
The 5.4 is my choice at 200 pounds&n

Home Free - Kiteboarding Style
Muskegon Michigan, a very special place for me as it's where grew up and learned to kite. It's always amazing to come back and share sessions with all my old friends. When the conditions line up the sessions are all time! The flat water in Muskegon Pier for free-style and endless amounts of fun on the dunes; I always have the best time and have a hardest time leaving.
Thanks to all the homies that made it so fun! Marc Hoeksema, Blake Olsen, Tye Kowalski, Sarah Dunick, Ryan Goloversic ext.

Quarantine Kite Park Dreams
Being locked down the past few weeks with no access to the beaches I’ve been dreaming of early this year in the Kite park in Hatteras and the Hood Rider Slider Project. Not to mention the good times with the Kite Park League homies.

How to Install Kite Line Extensions
3-meter line extensions are an invaluable tool that give you the ability to change the range and performance of every kite in your quiver. They can be added or removed to the end of your lines in about a minute and they make a huge difference in how your kite performs.
Add them and you get:
More Power
Slower Steering
Higher Jumps
Longer powerstrokes in light wind
Or take them off if you want:
more responsive handling
tighter kiteloops
faster steering
better wave p

Hydrofoiling: 2020 Slingshot's new wings
Heads up, this blog will be updated this week. We aim to keep these more extensive. Tuckers trying to catch up at the shop here.
This will be the second part of this discussion. Last year we looked at 7 of Slingshots wing options. Those are all the same for 2020, so we will just focus on the three new designs to keep it concise.

Slingshot Raptor Vs Rally GT
Slingshot went back to the drawing board for 2020 and has brought us two brand-new kites - the Rally GT and the Raptor. Many are wondering - who are these kites for, and what is the difference? We've spent some time on both kites and have developed opinions on what we feel the differences are. In this short comparison, we'll sort out those differences and help you make the decision - Rally GT or Raptor?
We'll cover some basic flying characteristics of each kite, broken down by category below.

2020 Slingshot Rally GT Review
What is the Rally GT?
Let's start with what the Rally GT is not. The 2020 Slingshot Rally GT is not the same Rally that you've used before. It's entirely new for 2020. They (Slingshot) went back and forth, deliberating a complete name change and landed on Rally GT (rather than an entirely new name, which could make sense with a kite that is such a far cry from the original Rally design). What is the Rally GT, then?
The Rally GT is Slingshot's "Do-it-all" kite for 2020. Every brand has one of t

2020 Slingshot Raptor Review
What is the Raptor?
The all-new Raptor from Slingshot for 2020 is their new user-friendly big booster, capable of taking you to heights you've never achieved!
According to Slingshot, the Raptor is their dedicated high-performance freestyle/freeride crossover kite, tuned for big boosts, lofty airs, and aggressive performance. We tend to agree with this - it's a five-strut jumping powerhouse! The Raptor, although excellent at jumping, tends to really lean its focus in that direction and forego
