Slingshot Phantasm Review
This is a project that has been in development for years and has a lot of R&D into it.
I have my hands on the 633 version the larger free rider or even wing foil wing.
Fist up, the kit comes in a high end travel case that keeps everything organized well inducing reenforced wing covers that won’t wear out like previous iterations. This all comes included with Hardware, a tool and some lubricant.
Heads up this doesn’t use the standard m8x25 board mounting hardware. You’ll need the longer m8 30.

A Stiffer Mast
The new mast really stands out. There is a huge connection to the fuselage. The engineering is just awesome. This Mast is crazy stiff. Its the stiffest mast I’ve ever ridden. This means exceptional response and durability. This allows for a faster energy transfer from the rider the wind. There is no flex or delay.
400 stabilizer Wing
This will come with the 400 stabilizer that is a perfect paring for the 633, offering good low end lift yet leaving room for agile.
633 Front Wing
The 633 is the same shape as the SS Appollo and is really similar to the Moses 633. The Slingshot Phantasm is going to be little more stable and less slippery on the yaw direction than the mosses version of this wing.

Testing on the kite & Wing
I’ve used this wing on kite and with the wing. I would say beginners don’t shy away from this setup. The wing is forgiving enough yet fun and performance oriented. There is good low end left, decent enough high end. The mast might be bit long for someone new but the foil is free ride oriented enough.
On the kite, you get an awesome wing and on the wing, its good for lighter riders. It lacks the glide of something more high aspect.Compared to the Moses counter part, I would say this foil is better for newer riders heavier riders and ridders who are rougher on their gear. Its chunkier than mosses so you lose a bit on the top end. It’s not quite as fast.

My Take
For me personally I’d use it for kiting free ride mostly. On the wing its fun but not phenomenal. I think Slingshot has created a new platform with a ton of potential. I would love to see some new wing offerings to build on upon this!
Something else exciting is this setup is compatible with the Moses front and stabilizer wings! You get the stiffer mast and platform and will not have to reinvest a number of wings including ones that slingshot doesn’t not even make yet.

The same could be said about hydrofoiling.
