Duotone Wing Academy | Flipping Your Wing
Flipping Your Wing On the Beach
Flipping the wing is an essential technique which you will need in many situations. The basic steps are similar whether you flip your wing on the beach or in the water. But flipping a wing on the water can be a challenge. So let's show you how it's done.
First, position the wing directly downwind of you. The leading edge or front tube should be facing towards the wind. Grab the front handle with one hand and reach out to the side with your second hand.

2023 Duotone Voyage Split Board Overview
"We finally did it. We came out with a split-board. It is going to be a
toolless design. It's based on the Duotone Select shape, which is a twin tip that we've had in our line forever.
The
Duotone Voyage rides super smooth, super easy in the chop, and it feels fast and quick. And this thing is relatively lightweight as well when you're traveling with it.
An important detail that was pointed out to me is that there are some countries, like, there are
some islands in

2022 Duotone Click Bar - Session Impression with Mr. Jeff
Hey, Aaron and Jeff here at MACkite. We just got off the water and we had a good session this morning. Jeff experienced his first go with the Duotone Click bar, and I just wanted to get his unscripted feedback on that bar. What are your thoughts?
I'm not a fan, but I've never ridden it until this morning. I thought the Click was just a gadget, and I'm used to above-the-bar tuning.
Yeah, you know, way back during the development on the Click bar when we were first get

2022 Duotone Slick SLS Wing
The
Duotone Slick has been a staple in freeride wings the past year. The 2022 Duotone SLS wing builds upon that with an upgraded design as well as some premium material science to level up its performance.
At first look, you might mistake this SLS for a normal Slick but it's got some notable upgrades. The SLS build, standing for
"strong, light, superior" use Premium fabrics from Duotone's chest of magic to give you a lighter, stiffer, and longer-lasting wing.
While riding,

Checking Out the 2022 Duotone Vario Combo Kiteboarding Footstraps
I've always considered the Duotone Vario Combo Straps to be completely subpar when compared to the award-winning Duotone Entity Ergo Straps. While I am a big fan of the Entity, I recently had a go on the Varios. Here's what I found out.
Duotone Vario Combo Straps are Simple by DesignIn contrast to the Duotone Entity Ergo Straps, the Vario Combo Straps are extremely simple. In the box, you'll find (2) Footbeds, (2) Footstraps, Mounting Hardware, and instructions. Everything appears nea

1) Lighter Canopy Materials for Kites and WingsThe biggest innovations in recent years have come in lighter materials – first with the Ocean Rodeo Aluula and then the Duotone SLS. We expect this to conti

F-One Strike V2 vs. Duotone Unit V2 - An Icy Cage Match
Being a cooler than typical winter here in Michigan, I’ve been jonesing for a session far too long. Fresh new goodies were just sitting unused like a pile of visible regrets. After hunting for weeks for an opening in the ice, I was finally blessed with a pool which was large enough to ride in. Furthermore, the weather was actually nice at 40 deg air, 34 deg water, and sunshine.
I’ll have some more formal video reviews coming in the next few weeks but wanted to get the info out ASAP for

State of Wing Surfing and Gear
Wing Surfing is the hottest new thing for SUP and hydrofoilers. If you are not already familiar, Wing Surfing uses a small inflatable kiteboard kite-looking sail that is handheld similarly to a windsurf sail. This, paired with a paddleboard or foilboard, allows the rider to capture wind power in a unique way for windsport basics, downwinders, flatwater play, and even foil surfing waves. Riders who have experience hydrofoiling, paddleboarding, and windsurfing will have a si

2019 Duotone Neo Review
Today, we’re doing an in-depth review of the 2019 Duotone Neo. In years past we’ve often touted the Neo as more than just a wave kite but also an awesome freeride kite. While this is true, it occurred to me that we’ve almost done this kite an injustice in regards to its surfing capabilities. This year, I’m committed to going the extra mile with these reviews. We’ll be diving in to everything you might want to know about the 2019 Duotone Neo, the good the bad and why this may or may not be t

Kiteboarding Review: Duotone Dice VS Duotone Rebel
Duotone Rebel Vs The Duotone Dice
There are two kites in the Duotone kiteboarding lineup that share some characteristics yet, appeal to completely different kiteboarders and riding styles. The Duotone Dice and the recently redesigned Duotone Rebel. Both offer explosive pop, both have a direct raw feel and both appeal to more advanced riders. Yet, while they share these traits, they actually couldn't be more different. If you’re that rider looking to take your kiteboarding to the next

2019 Duotone Dice Review
2019 Duotone Dice Review
So you’re thinking of crossing over to the Dice? I get it, explosive pop, forgiving slack, powerful loops and a kite that loves side and side off shore waves. After all, if you’re an intermediate or advanced rider it’s fun to upgrade to an advanced kite. There are some things to consider before making the leap. I’ve done quite a few videos on the topic of freestyle kites now. I’ll include a link to one of those videos in this blog so you can d
