THE ONLY HOLLOW CARBON MAST ON THE MARKET
Solid carbon masts don’t exploit the weight benefits of the material, and foam cores weaken under cyclic stress. The 90cm version of Project Cedrus weighs in at 2.75lbs / 1.25kg, while the 65cm length is sub 1kg. Despite being some of the lightest masts on the market, both bending and torsional stiffness properties of the mast exceed industry benchmarks. Whether you are carving in the surf, pumping a big wing, or riding a wide board, you will appreciate a stiffer mast.
HANDMADE IN OREGON
Along the shores of the Columbia River, the mast is fabricated by skilled technicians using repurposed aerospace grade materials. Intermediate modulus, toughened epoxy prepreg is cured using an out-of-autoclave process. The aluminum inserts undergo a special anodizing process before application of a corrosion inhibiting primer. Stainless steel helicoils ensure that your bolts turn freely for years.
2 Year Warranty
Project Cedrus underwent over a year of product testing during the two years of detailed design, analysis, and fabrication. We are now in the 3rd season of the production version with no structural failures to date. To the best of my technical knowledge and experience, only the best materials, adhesives, and processes are used throughout the production process, and at the expense of any profitability. That being said, we continue to learn and push boundaries in a quest for constant improvement and optimization of performance, cost, durability, and manufacturability. In the event of any structural failure under normally expected use, I will repair or replace your mast. Hitting submerged objects is not a design load case under normally expected use, and I hope the failure mode, if any, is benign. I have repaired a number of foils due to impact, and tried to design Project Cedrus for repairability. However, designing for full-speed impact would have resulted in an excessively heavy and expensive product. This all being said, I’m happy to report that a test run at about 15kts directly into the Hood River sandbar left no damage to the mast.

PATENTED ARCHITECTURE
Two-piece construction enables a number of unique features from the hollow carbon core to non-structural edges. The flexible trailing edge improves safety, damage tolerance, and vibration damping of the mast. It will never chip or need repairs, so you can spend more time riding and less time worrying about your fragile carbon foil.
