Kite Basics: How to Assemble Your New Kiteboard
Tools Required
The only tool you should need to assemble your board is a #3 Phillips screwdriver.
Fins
At each end of the board are two sets of holes for your fins. Drop the screws in from the top of the board and attach them to your fins on the bottom. The narrower, tapered end of each fin should point toward the middle of the board.
Handle
Your handle attaches to the top of the board, right in the center. Line the handle up with the holes, then drop in the screws from the top.
Footstraps
Attach your straps to the footpads and you'll be ready to mount them to the board. When I set up footstraps on a board for the first time, I like to place them in the middle of the tracks so my stance is about shoulder-width. Then I angle my toes out around 10-15 degrees. Of course, this is all up to your preferences as the rider, but it's a good baseline to start with. As you get some sessions in, you can tweak that to where you find it most comfortable and you get the best ride.
Thank you for flying with MACkite. Your board's all built and ready for your new adventure in kiteboarding.
