Brazilian Brothers Review the 2025 Cabrinha Nitro
The Brazilian Brothers use the Cabrinha Nitro as their primary clinic kite and there are some good reasons why, but it's also not a kite for every kiteboarder. Rubens explains why he and Arthur love the Nitro, and whether it's the right kite for you.
What Is the Nitro?
The Cabrinha Nitro is a big air kite designed by Pat Goodman. If that name sounds familiar, there's a reason. He's also designed kites like the Switchblade and the North Orbit, both kites that revolutionized the kite industry. With over 20 years of experience, Pat's name on a kite means you can expect it to handle the way it was designed to.

Is the Nitro Easy to Use?
The Nitro is intuitive and accessible, qualities that are important when someone's only got a short time to work on their big air game with the Brothers. Students can pick up the Nitro and feel comfortable right away, even in the nuking conditions Prea is known for. Whether you're working on your heli-loops, downloops, or kiteloops, the Nitro won't feel intimidating.
How Does the Nitro Jump?
The Nitro is a reliable kite for jumping. It's got a big sweet spot, making it forgiving and not too technical. It's also fast, so you can get from 1 to noon quickly for good vertical boost and lift. That lift also allows you to come down nice and soft, which is a great confidence-booster for anyone working on progressing. It's a dream for learning to heli-loop.
How Is the Nitro at Looping?
Short of upgrading to a material like Aluula, the Nitro may be the best looper you can buy. The combination of light bar pressure, excellent depower, and progressive yank through the loop makes it an excellent kite for anybody who wants to get into loops or progress into kiteloop board-offs and rotations.

What Are the Trade-offs with the Nitro?
The Nitro sacrifices low-end performance for being so comfortable at the high end. In fact, like most big air kites, it truly comes to life when it's lit up. If you're riding underpowered, the Nitro just isn't going to feel like itself.
The Nitro is a boosting and looping machine, so if you want to get out on your foil or ride strapless, you'll want to grab something else out of your quiver. If you've got a Nitro in your hands, put a twintip on your feet.
Should I Get a Nitro?
The Brothers wholeheartedly recommend the Nitro as long as you've got a twintip and lots of wind. It's intuitive and includes plenty of performance. You'll feel comfortable on it at any level, thanks in part to the light bar pressure, yet it won't stop you from pulling off kiteloops, mega-loops, and other high-end maneuvers.
