2026 Duotone Jaime SLS Kiteboard Review
The Brazilian Brothers are back to bring you another product review. Today, their focus is on the 2026 Duotone Jaime SLS. While the 2027 model was recently released, the 2026 Jaime SLS remains a standout board that is still available at a discount that might attract some attention, and the Brothers want to help you decide whether to go for it or invest in the new version. The Jaime SLS remains the Brazilian Brothers' favorite board within the Duotone lineup, and they have broken down exactly why this board performs the way it does.

Weight and Construction
The first thing you will notice when you grab the 2026 Jaime SLS is how incredibly light the board is, weighing in at just 2.37kg. The Brazilian Brothers feel that it's worth spending the extra money to go with the SLS version over the regular Jaime. It is substantially lighter, which makes board-offs much easier during your sessions.

Flex and Comfort in Choppy Water
In terms of flex, the Jaime SLS is designed to handle challenging conditions. Whether riding in the open water of the ocean in Brazil or the strong conditions in Cape Town, you are frequently dealing with chop. Even though the Jaime SLS features a carbon outline and a light construction, it maintains a great degree of flex.
The Brazilian Brothers prefer flexier boards because they allow you to stay out in choppy conditions for hours without feeling it in your knees. The Jaime SLS provides the perfect amount of flex to give you a really good pop without ruining your knees in the process.

Grip and Aggressive Takeoffs
The Jaime SLS performs exceptionally well when it comes to grip. When you are loading for a jump, you need a board that sticks to the water so you can hold your edge for as long as possible. Because of the channels and a sophisticated concave design, this board allows you to stay on your edge and load and pop aggressively for big jumps and loops.

Outline and Double Rocker Concept
The board features Duotone's double rocker line concept. It is a reasonably flat board through the center with a bit of rocker added to the tails. This outline is a preferred choice because it allows you to cut through chop efficiently while still being able to build significant speed. Some boards on the market have too much rocker, which helps with chop but prevents you from building the speed necessary for takeoffs. The Jaime SLS offers the best of both worlds: it cuts through the rough water and goes fast when you need it to.

The Brazilian Brothers Unfiltered Feedback
In their "Unfiltered" segment, the Brazilian Brothers tell it like it is, highlighting their personal pros and cons of the Jaime SLS to help you decide if it is the right fit for your quiver.
Where It Shines
- Weight: It is a very light board, which is a major advantage for riders practicing board-offs.
- Flex: The flex is great for your knees, allowing for long sessions in choppy water while still providing the pop needed for big air.
- Outline: The balanced outline allows the board to cut through chop and build speed for takeoffs.

Where It Should Improve
The main downside the Brothers found is longevity and resistance for high-impact styles of riding. The Jaime SLS is a high-performance freeride board for evolving and progressing riders. However, if you are a hardcore big air rider coming down extremely hard from double boogie loops, you might want to look at the Duotone Team Series Big Air board, which has more structural integrity for those heavy impacts. Similarly, if you are focused on freestyle and stomping big handlepass landings, the Team Series Freestyle board is likely a better fit.
But for the evolving rider who wants a balanced, flexy, and lightweight board primarily for big air and general performance, the Jaime SLS is highly recommended.
