2018 Cabrinha Switchblade Overview

2018 Cabrinha Switchblade Overview

The 2018 Switchblade remains the kite we know and love, with a few new updates.

Today I’m going to be discussing with you the new 2018 Cabrinha Switchblade. The Switchblade has been a staple in our lineup for years. It’s always been one of our most popular kites, and for good reason.

It’s an easy beginner kite. You can pick it up and go right away. It’s something that will take you from your early kiting stages to winning Red Bull King of the Air. The Switchblade is stable, yet allows you to throw huge kite loops, and lock in tons of power. It’s an awesome all-around kite that can handle anything you throw it’s way.

So what’s new for 2018?

High-Tenacity Dacron

New for 2018 in the Switchblade, and the rest of the Cabrinha lineup, is their new High Tenacity Dacron. They included a design change in their materials last year and the year before, but this new high tenacity material is a whole new level of innovation. It’s a material that will create more snappy turns in the kite. This means that when you pull right on the bar, the kite will turn right as well, and return to center much faster. This material is much more durable, so the turns will remain responsive as the kite becomes more worn over the years. Your kite will feel new for years to come. High Tenacity Dacron tends to maintain a bit more durability rather than other commonly used kite materials. High Tenacity Dacron is exclusive to Cabrinha, and is something we’re looking forward to in the new kites this year.

“XO Switchblade”

A Switchblade meant just for the lady riders out there! It will be offered in a few select sizes beginning March of 2018.

But Things Still Remain The Same…

The 2018 Switchblade has stayed pretty true to it’s original form, as the kite we all know and love. Fans can confidently look at the Switchblade as a great, all-around kite that will last a long time. The Switchblade will be able to handle almost any condition thrown it’s way whether you’re surfing, doing basic wakestyle and freestyle tricks, or just learning how to kite for the first time.

One of the best features of the Switchblade is it’s massive wind range. This kite is going to be able to cover a lot of ground when it comes to wind speeds. You will be able to bump up by a knot or two on both your low-end and high-end wind speeds with the switchblade compared to other kites in the same category. You can save some money by having a smaller quiver and avoid worrying about which size kite you’re on while out on the water. The Switchblade is a kite you can be very confident in, knowing it will work for you for a long time.
