Pairing remote to Waydoo Flyer One Plus and Updated V1 Boards Magnet Switches

So you’ve got you're self a brand new Waydoo Flyer One Plus and are trying to manual pair the remote to your board. Here is a step by step break down of the procedures you will need to follow in order to successfully pair your remote to your Flyer One Plus using the magnetic fob.

1. Make sure Battery is tightly secured and you hear the connection noise between the power unit and the board
2. If battery has a red light flashing, power unit is not connected
3. On the battery power button briefly hold magnet on power, remove, than hold on for 5 seconds- use teardrop shaped black magnet
4. On the remote power button; press and hold until the remote powers on.
5. Put the battery in pairing mode by briefly hold magnet on link button, remove, than hold on for 5 seconds- use teardrop shaped black magnet
6. Put the remote in pairing mode by pressing the power button on the remote and the “-” button simultaneously until the remote vibrates
7. Once the red light on the remote is steady and the blue light is flashing you are ready to ride

How to update your new Waydoo Flyer One Plus eFoil

Both mast and remote need to be updated and on the same software version for the eFoil to work. First update firmware for mast and then the remote. The mast and remote will only connect if both are updated with the Waydoo Flyer Upgrade Tools app. Please make sure that both the remote & battery are charged above 50% and the battery is installed in the board with the power unit attached. Please make sure that your board is turned off when you are upgrading your remote. Otherwise, your upgrade may not go through. If your device disconnects unexpectedly, to resume your upgrade, please click “upgrade” on the App. If your upgrade fails, please resume the procedure at step 4.

Steps for updating the power unit:

1. Turn off remote

2. Turn on the board briefly hold magnet on power, remove, than hold on for 5 seconds- use teardrop shaped black magnet

3. briefly hold magnet on link button, remove, than hold on for 5 seconds- use teardrop shaped black magnet

4. Run the app – Click “Scan BLE Devices” to scan for Bluetooth devices. Find Waydoo Flyer Foil and press connect

b. Old firmware will be shown on top

c. New firmware will be shown under

5. Press upgrade

6. To validate the update TAP Bluetooth button twice within a second with the magnet fob

7. The status on the app will be shown & motor of the ESC will be beeping

a. It should takes about 3-5 minutes to upgrade

8. After successful update- on the app the new firmware should be shown on top

9. Power off board briefly hold magnet on power, remove, than hold on for 5 seconds- use teardrop shaped black magnet

Steps for upgrading the remote:

1. Power on the remote

2. Click “Scan BLE Devices” on the app to scan for Bluetooth devices

3. Find “Waydoo Flyer Handled” in the device list and click connect* *When you upgrade your remote, please make sure any other remotes are off

4. Click “upgrade” on the APP; then press and hold the “+” button on the remote within 30s until the upgrade interface appears on your remote*

5. You can monitor the upgrade progress on both the remote and the app

6. When your remote upgrade is done, there will be a message of upgrade complete on the App 

7. There will also be a message saying upgrade complete on the remote, and then the remote will turn off automatically
