Jake on the 2017 North Rebel
So you're Interested in the Rebel. We're imaging some of the questions you are asking yourself...What's New this year, and what type of rider will benefit from this kite?
Well this overview should square that up for you.

Jake on the 2017 North Dice
The Firecracker! or as you might know it. The 2017 North Dice. What's new, and what kind of rider will benefit from this kite.
What is great about the Dice is it really has something to offer anyone. Whether you are into unhooked wakestyle/freestyle. Hooked in riding with some serious flair, waves or kite loops. This kite loops especially well! The Dice is North's answer to riders willing to sacrifice a little wind range for an exceptionally high performance all

Let's Chat: 2017 North Neo w/ Jake
Jake on the 2017 North Neo
The Neo is known as North's go-to wave kite but in all reality, it is much much more than that. What most people don’t know is with a slight tweaking of the bridle it becomes an excellent free ride kite.
So What’s new with the Neo in 2017?
This year North didn’t want to fix what's not broken. For 2017 you can expect incremental improvements in the turning speed, the de-power and a more direct feedback and bar feel.

Should You Add a Surf-Specific Harness to Your Quiver?
Benefits of Adding A Surf-Specific Harness to Your Quiver
Up until this last week, I was a firm believer that one harness was sufficient for any and all conditions. Having homed in on the Apex Select, that was my do-all harness. Leisurely cruise? Apex Select. Freestyle session? Apex Select. Slashing it up it the waves? Apex Select, although a little looser so it could rotate around my body. Hardcore wakestyle sesh? In my dreams I’m wearing the Apex Select.
But then came last wee

Jake M's Rescue at Grand Haven Beach
Jake M has seen his fair share of kiteboarding blows. Last summer, after winds had topped around 30-knots, Jake ran to the beach for his "lunch break". Not only did the wind die, but he ended up having to swim a quarter of a mile back to shore as a result. With a rip current and five-to-eight-foot waves to fight against and no floatation vest, Mitchell found himself red-faced, short of breath and wishing that he had worn a vest.
What Jake Recommends
Since my incident last summer, I've foun

New to North Kiteboarding's Fleet: 2016 Mono Kite
2016 North Mono Kiteboarding KiteNew for 2016, North Kiteboarding is debuting the Mono, a one strut kite that finds itself in the company of the Airush Lithium One and Liquid Force Solo. Able to be flown on both a 4-line and 5-line control bar, you can expect a light-weight, quick turning kite that’s perfectly suited for light to medium winds. With one strut, expect some canopy flutter. This will make the kite slightly more difficult to handle in heavy winds that require consistent depowering.

Top Picks from the MACkite Crew for Staying Safe at the Beach
O'Neill - Don't Get Burned
Summer is a great time to go out to the beach and to catch a few rays. Living only 5 minutes away from the beach, it's pretty easy for us to head out whenever we can. That being said, while we love being out in the sun we also know the dangers of being out in the sun for too long: heat exhaustion, sunburn, skin cancer...it can be hard to handle. That's why we always carry around at least some water, sun screen, or a light rashguard (O'Neill Superlite Jacket) like the
