Slingshot Formula V1 Review
The Formula V1 kiteboard is an exciting addition to Slingshot's lineup. Their kiteboards have long been known to be heavy duty and provide a distinct damp feel on the water. The Formula couldn't be further from the rest of their kiteboards: extremely light and snappy with a race car like feel. The Formula V1 is a completely different animal.

A Kiteboard with Speed and Snap
The Formula V1 kiteboard is so snappy and poppy you just want to jump as soon as it hits the water. I hate making this comparison as they are different, but in some ways it reminds me of the Jaime Textreme from Duotone, though the outline and snap are completely different. They are similar in the addicting, lively feel on the water.

Who Would Enjoy This Kiteboard
The Formula is a gem for kiteboarders looking to take their strapped freestyle, big air, and stylish freeride to higher levels. It's not something a boot rider would want, due to the carbon. For the kind of riding I do, this is not the type of board I normally choose, but when I am riding footstraps I get amped on boards like this. For a footstrap rider I would argue this is the most fun board in the lineup.

Who Would Not Enjoy This Kiteboard
Outside of core competitive boots riders, the Formula is an amazing choice for any twintip rider. I always try to look for cons to cover in every review, but I'm genuinely stoked on this kiteboard. The only real drawback is cost. When opting for a high-performance kiteboard, you make a large leap from staple boards that are heavier and less lively. I do feel all the boards in Slingshot's lineup are well-designed and something I choose in my quiver year after year. That said, I encourage you to demo a Formula back-to-back with whatever board you are using and you will see exactly what the difference in feel and performance is. In this case, you just have to try it and let the smile on your face be the deciding factor.
