Let's Chat: 2017 North Neo w/ Jake
Jake on the 2017 North Neo
The Neo is known as North's go-to wave kite but in all reality, it is much much more than that. What most people don’t know is with a slight tweaking of the bridle it becomes an excellent free ride kite.

So What’s new with the Neo in 2017?
This year North didn’t want to fix what's not broken. For 2017 you can expect incremental improvements in the turning speed, the de-power and a more direct feedback and bar feel.

The vision behind the Neo is a kite with the ability to turn quickly in a well rounded arc, while delivering a consistent smooth power band throughout the turn. A kite that will drift well when the lines are slacked. And a kite that will have slightly more power per size. The idea being that if you can use a smaller kite due to its power you can also fly a much faster kite.

So, who is the Neo ultimately for?
While it is marketed as a wave kite we strongly feel that it is much more than that.
Of course waveriders are going to love this kite as it is perfectly catered to the high demands of a wave rider. But As a freeride kite the Neo is really fun. Beginners through advanced riders will benefit from having the extra power in a smaller kite while intermediate to advanced riders will enjoy having a fast, playful freeride kite.
What makes the neo really special is the level of customization.
Wave riders should use the wave setting on the front bridle. Paired with the Hard Setting on the back Bridle. This is how the designer, as well as the North team riders use it.

It makes for Smooth and round turning with consistent power throughout the turn.
Free Riders should use the free ride setting on the front bridle. This will increase the de-power of the kite. This is great if you are in need of a smaller kite and either don't have one, or have time to pump up another kite! You can also decrease the bar pressure by using the soft bar setting on the back bridle.
