How to put a Fireball Spreader Bar on a Ride Engine Harness
Hi, this is Tucker from MACkiteboarding.com, and today I’m going to show you how to connect a 2017 Cabrinha Fireball Spreader Bar to a Ride Engine harness. Here we have the Hex-Core Ride Engine, and the first thing we did was strip the rubber plastic tubing off to expose the strap. This is what we’re going to need - doing that is not super easy and getting it back on is even harder, so we wouldn’t recommend doing that unless you’re really planning to put this on for a while. It is possible to get it back on, but not very easy. We would recommend using a piece of line or a string to fish it back through.
- The first thing we’re going to do here is take our Quick Connect buckle to the right side of the harness.
- This has to go to the right side of the harness, going to go up through this small slot, down through the larger middle slot, and back up through the slot on the side. That’s going to give us a strong, flat connection so that the spreader bar doesn’t rotate or twist on us, causing discomfort.
- It’s going to go back through the sleeve to the strap cleat through the rear section and back through the front strap.
- Once you find where your waist is best suited, you’ll want to lock this down by putting it through the rear section.
- Next, we’re going to go to the left side of the harness to connect the actual spreader bar assembly. Notice that the harness hook goes up this time, as opposed to down like a traditional quickloop assembly.
- Again, up through the small slot, down through the big middle slot, and back up through the last one.
- Go through our sleeve here and back to our strap cleat just like we did on the other side, through the back, through the front, and then lock it down once we find the correct spot for our waist size.
- Slip in and we’re ready to ride!
