F-One Trigger Brainchild V3 with Josh Gillitt
The Brazilian Brothers are back and joined by F-One international rider Josh Gillitt. Together, they're diving deep into Josh's relationship with F-One and breaking down the massive performance of the Trigger Brainchild V2 and the brand-new V3.
Josh Gillitt's Journey with F-One
Josh has been an international rider for F-One for six years, since 2020. They've supported him through competitions, travel, and gear. In 2024, getting his hands on the Trigger Brainchild V2 was the biggest game-changer in his career. It provided a massive boost in performance for his training and competitions, proving that F-One is an amazing company to deal with on the global stage.
The Trigger Brainchild V2: An Absolute Machine
The V2 actually won the Brazilian Brothers award for the best overall big air kite. When Josh first tried a prototype from Ralf in June or July 2024, his immediate reaction was, "What is this thing? This is an absolute machine."
The kite sits way above your head, delivering the craziest vertical lifts Josh had ever felt. The turning speed is mind-blowing. On his second or third jump, he pulled a double loop on an 8m, something he never even thought about doing on his previous kite gear. It was so fast and responsive that it actually took a bit of time to get used to. He was oversteering it at first, and during his first event just days later, his single loops were almost turning into double loops, so he just went with the doubles as his strategy.
While it's built as an absolute weapon for high performance, it's also surprisingly easy for the average rider to use. It's fast, responsive, playful, and jumps incredibly well. If you're looking to try your first kite loops, this kite is a machine for that.

Enter the Trigger Brainchild V3
The Trigger is a six-point bridle kite, and the brand-new V3 brings some massive upgrades to the table to improve upon an already stellar design.
Next-Level Graphics and Design
F-One really knocked it out of the park with the graphics this time. The Brainchild technology allows for crazy colors and graphics printed directly onto the kite. It looks absolutely insane and beautiful in the sky — it looks as good as it rides.
Massive Performance Upgrades
The first major improvement Josh noticed was a major upgrade in the second lift. When you're downlooping, the kite really wants to shoot behind you a lot more. That gives you extra second lift and more time to put your board on. The V2 didn't have as much of that second lift or shoot as far behind you.
It also jumps even higher than the previous version. Josh calls this a record-breaking kite. He was riding a 7m in 30 knots, conditions where he'd normally ride a 9m or 10m, and was consistently jumping over 20 meters. He noted there was no way he would have jumped that high in that amount of wind on the previous version.

Construction and Reinforcements
F-One added a lot more extra reinforcement on the trailing edge. The V2 could get wear quite easily, especially in the center part of the trailing edge. This new reinforcement helps prevent that wear and significantly reduces vibration and noise. The V2 had a loud flutter to it, but the V3 is quiet and doesn't sound noisy at all.
Bridle and Depower Changes
On the V2, the bridle had a fixed point. For the V3, they've added a little pulley. That means the kite depowers a bit better — when you push the bar out, it depowers the front leading edge more effectively.
They also added an extra bridle attachment point. That increases the overall stability, making the kite more rigid in the air and much more direct. You know exactly where the kite is the whole time. The V2 felt a little spongy in the bar, but the V3 is super direct.
Strut Clamps
A small but highly practical change: the V2 didn't have clamps on all the struts, which made finding a leak difficult. The V3 now features clamps on all the struts, which is extremely helpful for maintenance.
The Brazilian Brothers are stoked to get this big air machine on the water. They'll be putting it through its paces for a full-length review and comparing it to other big air kites in Brazil.
