Duotone Tech Talk: 2026 Evo D/LAB Kite
For two years, Duotone has developed and refined the new Evo D/LAB, one of the most anticipated kites in the industry. While a predecessor of it's former design with a 3-strut Aluula construction, it's suprisingly its own standout model. Designed for pros to the average Joe's, the Evo D/LAB not only satisfies the competitive scene but also those who are chasing height, loops, and advanced tricks.

What's New for 2026?
Smaller Leading Edge Design
Because of the added strength in the Aluula construction and new seam design, Duotone is now able to pump the Evo D/LAB to 10 PSI. That allowed for a smaller leading edge, ultimately reducing drag and improving lift. The kite can fly further forward in the window and still create enough lift to pull you upwind, giving you better upwind angles and low-end performance. Plus, the low resistance on the top-end allows the kite to shoot forward and depower quickly.

In a nutshell, a kite with less drag is going to offer more lift and can navigate through gusts efficiently for upwind riding or boosts.
According to Reno, "With the old kite, you had to constantly fight the power in your legs. Now, it just accelerates forward and goes upwind — it’s way more comfortable."
Better Bar Feel
This year's iteration also sees an extra leading edge segment on the tip. With the new seam construction, an additional segment was added in the leading edge to help transfer the load of back lines into the kite's frame. Not only that, but it helps the responsiveness of the kite, giving more response and feedback from the kite to the bar.

You'll notice crisper loops, tigher control, and more precise feedback, especially when the wind kicks up. The tension also gets distributed more evenly, reducing tip flutter and boosting the kite's agility whether you're riding in light breeze or nuking conditions.
New 6-Point Bridle System
The new bridle system extends all the way from the tip of the kite, keeping the kite compact and rigid even when sheeted out. Riders will find rock-solid control in gusts, better loop control, and improved responsiveness and feedback. This feature alone makes the Evo D/LAB a confidence booster in 30+ knot sessions or when learning advanced tricks.
"With this kite, it gives you so much confidence. The kite's so stable that every time when you're out there, you push one step ahead."
