Designer Notes Behind North's 2025 Twintip Kiteboard Collection

North Kiteboarding dropped their 2025 twintip collection with one idea in mind: a totall re-imagining from the ground up. This year is packed with upgrades, including lighter construction and smarter design across the full range. From freeriding and big air boosts to freestyling or wakestyle, there's a board that's tuned for every rider.

Prime

Who's It For: Beginner to intermediate riders seeking smooth progression and comfort across all conditions.

The North Prime is back and better than ever, all while maintaining its familiarity, intuitive design, and comfortable feel. With a re-engineered composite layup, customized Paulownia core thickness, and pulled-in tips, the Prime offers spray-free cruising, early planing in light wind, and forgiving flex that absorbs chop and softens landings. With a progressive single concave throughout, there's still flex in the tips — surprisingly, its low rocker makes it easier for getting up easier. The redesigned channeling on the deck adds additional stiffness in the mdidle of the board, with plenty of flex at the tips.

Now with a reinforced deck and available in 7 sizes (133-152cm), the Prime is a go-to board for dailing in upwind riding, first jumps, and easy carving.

Astra

Who's It For: Lighter riders chasing performance in big air and freeride.

The 2025 Astra was purpose-built for smaller, lighter riders who want explosive performance. Featuring a narrower stance, lighter 380gsm E-glass construction, and North's new 3DY carbon tech, this board is confidence-inspiring in all conditions. This new 3DY technology helps contribute to the board's lively feel, lower weight, and incredible pop.

With quad tip channels and a V double concave base, the Astra delivers buttery smooth landings, crisp edging, better tracking, and controled lift for light and agile riders.

Atmos

Who's It For: Intermediate, advanced riders, and big air enthusiasts.

The all-new Atmos is designed to challenge gravity. It's North's most popular freeride board, with its explosing boosting, looping, and stable landings. Now with a custom tri-axial E-glass layup, torsional stiffness and pop are improved without adding weight. It has a renewed bottom shape, with its double concave and deep center spine for better tracking upwind and edging control. With a medium rocker and balanced flex, it's a lot more forgiving on hard landings. Designed to send it big with control and style, the Atmos brings reliable edge hold, predictable landings, and incredible upwind drive.

Atmos Pro

Who's It For: Advanced riders chasing megaloops, extreme air, and carbon-level response.

Tuned for the more aggressive rider, the Atmos Pro delivers unrivaled edge control, powerful upwind tracking, and big air sends even in the most overpowered conditions. The board is crafted from layers of 12K spread toe carbon and 300gsm triaxial carbon top and bottom for greater torsional and longitudinal stiffness. Like the Atmos, the Pro runs North's exclusive 3DY unidirectional carbon tape on the top and bottom, which helps with efficient energy return and efficiency. The updated shape includes deeper channels, a spine for smooth landings, and a slightly stiffer rocker to match the carbon layup.

Trace

Who's It For: Heavier riders or anyone maximizing performance in sub-12-knot sessions.

On the days where the wind doesn't quite show up to the party, the Trace steps in with phenomenal pop, excellent transitions, and surprising maneuverability. With a larger surface area, straighter outline, and progressive rocker, the Trace planes early and rides fast. It features a lightweight hybrid construction and 3DY reinforcement for flex that still pops, even when winds are marginal. On the bottom, you'll notice quad channels and a deep V spine that runs right through the board and tapers slightly on the tips to help deflect water, reduce drag, and improve resistance.

Focus

Who's It For: Unhooked freestyle riders using boots or straps in flat water and chop.

The 2025 Focus has explosive pop, dynamic flex, and a precise response for freestyle ridings looking to push their limits. The new design features a more aggressive flex pattern and squarer outline to generate explosive pop to execute technical freestyle moves. The center spine and double concave redesign helps disperse the load on high impact landings. Plus, the ful length rail channels give the board more hold and load spread to soften impacts. Between the board, rocker, outline, and flex, the Focus is incredibly easy to carve with and load up hard.

Flare

Who's It For: Wakestyle riders and crossover kiters who ride park features or go finless.

Featuring excellent durability and great handlings thanks to its low-friction PEX grind base, the 2025 Flare is ideal for at the park or on the kite riding. The board features a high wakestyle rocker, softening landings and complimenting riding, even in overpowered or choppy conditions. It has extreme quad channels to improve tracking and upwind drive, especially when riding finless. Plus, the press flex tips enable smooth, controlled presses on the sliders. Note: The Flare does not come with a handle.

Flex Pro Twintip Bindings

The new Flex Pro bindings have been updated with a stiffer skeleton to make your hold feel rigid and easy to get in and out, better for board offs. When you land hard, the structure lets you feel more secure and locked in without feeling like you're going to slip out.

Accessories

All 2025 twintip boards come with composite fins, designed for high abrasion resistance. The fins are held on with dog bone washers seen at the top of the deck. Why such large washers? It's so you can see them easier (and hopefully won't lose them)! These washers also help distribute the impact load on the fins to a wider area, lessening the chance of damaging your board.

All twin tips now have the option to add a Grab It Rail. By adding this accessory onto your railing, your board becomes easier to grab. It's made out of a lightweight EVA material, so it's not going to add any significant weight to your twintip.

With last year's release, we saw the redesign of the composite handle. Its wide, square geometry allows for more control and grip, especially when wet. New for 2025, you can now add a handle height extension, which is great for those more (ahem) seasoned riders who might need an extra hand at gripping their board. It's also helpful for those who are looking for big air boosts!

Digital Product Passport

We've all lost a board before. It's not fun, but it happens. Now, all 2025 North twintips have a new digital passport QR code on the bottom of the board. It's directly linked to the board's serial number.

Simply scan the code, register your board, and it'll be added to your personal digital locker room. If it gets lost and someone finds your kiteboard, they can scan the code and get in touch! This is also a helpful feature in theft protection and recovery.

When registered, you're enrolled in the free Club North membership. Membership includes some helpful benefits, including free insurance, an extended warranty, and one of the most accurate weather protection systems on the market.
