2024 Reedin SuperNatural Wing | Effortless Handling and Unexpected Excellence
Ryan and Jeff from MACkite got out on the 2024 Reedin SuperNatural wing. Jeff has had a couple sessions on the 5m, and Ryan just came in from a half hour session. Ryan is stoked on it already; it's in his top three for the year. Will Jeff agree?
Design Characteristics
On top of being a very beautiful wing that turned heads at the beach, it's lightweight and well-balanced. It's a dream handling it in the waves. When you're riding downwind at your wing and switching hands, it has a tendency to fall in front of you, but on the SuperNatural it was easy to switch hands and drag the wing behind or wherever you wanted it. Transitions, jibes and tacks were equally easy to perform.

Of course, the lightweight frame is a big part of that, but the carbon handles are amazing too, both the surf/luffing handle and the front handle. The pistol grip on the front handle is very comfortable, and it's got some padding to keep from damaging your board in case you hit it. The way it's shaped makes it easy to transition from the front handle to the luffing handle. That can be a little awkward to do with some wings, but it's super natural to do on this wing. ;-)
Flying Characteristics
One thing to note, however, is the way the SuperNatural wants to fly. It's got quite the angle between the front and rear handles, and because of that, it feels like you're flying with your rear handle pushed out a little farther. If you should have plenty of power but are struggling, try letting the rear handle out a bit more. Pretty soon it will become second nature to grab the wind.
You may also need to adjust a bit when riding upwind. This wing likes to fly a bit further forward to find the sweet spot. Put your front arm out and slide it forward a bit, and then you'll be able to drive upwind with better speed.

Who's It For?
This is really a wing for anyone. It's beginner-friendly, yet won't hold you back as you progress.
Summary
This is Reedin's third year making wings, and they've really hit this one out of the ballpark. It's light as a feather, it's easy to maneuver in the air, and it really does look beautiful. It's great for wave riding and has good speed, upwind drive, and grunt. It can do it all.
