F-one Hi Mod Carbon Foil Mast

What F-one has to say about the Hi Mod Carbon Foil Mast

A true masterpiece of composite craftmanship and design, the F-ONE Carbon Mast was designed to transform your foiling experience by a significant improvement of the glide and a dramatic weight reduction matched with impressive rigidity. The design target was to enhance the thrills of foiling and we believe foiling is always better when your foil glides better, when your foil is easier to drive and when it reacts better to your demands, even at the highest speeds. This is what you will experience when using the F-ONE carbon mast on your existing F-ONE foil or on a new one.

  • Stiffer feel
  • Direct connection
  • Immediate feedback
  • High performance

Length : 75 cm /85 cm / 95 cm / 105 cm
Chord : 12 cm
Profil Thickness : 1.45 cm
Weight : 1.43 kg / 1.55 Kg / 1.66 kg / 1.80 kg

Available in 75cm, 85cm, 95cm and 105cm, the F-ONE Carbon Mast is ready for all disciplines: surf, wing, kite, SUP. It features a 4-bolt plate at the top (hole spacing: 160 x 90mm) and an integrated Titan mast foot at the bottom. It can be connected to virtually all boards on the market featuring the twin track system and can receive all the wings and fuselage that feature the TITAN connection slot.

All components are molded together or bonded in factory to ensure the best rigidity throughout. The mast therefore comes as a one-piece object, built in carbon pre-preg with a hollow structure which is molded and cured in one-shot. The numerous layers of carbon are laminated one by one to our exacting demands regarding fiber weight and orientation to achieve the rigidity needed, both in bending and torsion, to keep full control in all situations and at high speeds.

A carbon mast is a superior bit of kit. We think it needs to look great and deliver a superior and flawless behavior on the water. This is what we’ve achieved with the F-ONE Carbon Mast.

The F-ONE carbon masts are now available with High Modulus Carbon to raise the bar in terms of performances and control. The percentage of high modulus fiber has been carefully adjusted in order to obtain the best stiffness in bending and torsion, while keeping enough comfort for each kind of practice.

Technology

Pre-Preg

With Pre-preg fabrics, the carbon fiber is directly impregnated with epoxy resin by its manufacturer; this guarantees a perfect ratio between epoxy and carbon, and represents the highest quality process.

HM

The High Modulus Carbon fiber used in our mast layup is 1.5x stiffer than the regular carbon fiber used in other constructions.

The percentage of high modulus fiber has been carefully adjusted in order to obtain the best stiffness in both bending and torsion while keeping enough comfort for any kind of practice.

Hollow Technology

Derived from the high tech industry, the HOLLOW TECHNOLOGY offers the perfect balance between stiffness and lightness. This technology enables us to reach of compaction, rigidity and toughness.

Titan Construction

The TITAN connection enables a very stiff and direct connection between two parts, locking efficiently any movement in all directions.
Its format is compact which is hydrodynamically efficient and very easy to use, assemble and disassemble.

    Amazing upgrade from Aluminum!

Posted by Beto on 15th Aug 2022

Greetings! Background: I'm 6'0 170lbs and I ride a 60L 4'10 board with the F-One 740 and Carbon Mast. I've been riding the Armstrong foil set for about 6-7 months now (HS1550-HS1250) and added the F-One Phantom 1280 with the aluminum mast to my quiver and had a lot of fun surfing with it. I then transitioned to the Phantom 740 and loved it but still had issues with the weight of the foil set and decided to purchase the carbon mast and wow the stiffness and maneuverability of this foil now is insane! It's incredibly light, lighter than anything else I've ridden for sure! I've gone out with it about 10-12 times and it's blown my mind how it just slices through the water and keeps you steady on course! I recommend it in terms of performance, weight, and simplicity but I'll admit I have three small issues with this mast: 1.) Price - It's definitely pricey, there's so many options in the foil market that the price might be the most unmotivating aspect of the foil especially for the lack of accessories it has, which leads me to #2. 2.) No mast cover!! - This is my #1 most annoying issue with the foil. It comes with 4 T-Nuts and bolts but no mast cover! It's a delicate beast so I just wrap it in a towel and store it in my board bag after every sesh because I already blew so much money on it that I don't want to invest in a foil mast cover. Honestly for being such a pricey mast, I expected better protection/casing. 3-ish.) I don't mind this but it might annoy people, there aren't rails that let the t-nut+bolt assembly slip on to the mast after they're in the board like in other foil masts, so you need to line up the holes on the mast with the t-nuts and then slip the bolts in, which isn't the easiest method for when you're in a hurry. I'm sure they did it for better stiffness/precision but still doesn't compare to other foils in board-mast connection tech. Overall, if you're on the aluminum foil with an F-One foil, I guarantee, the carbon mast will blow your mind. It's weight alone is just such a drastic change that you'll feel like Kai Lenny arriving on the beach. 9/10 Foil - Mast cover really kills it from being perfect for me!
