Designer Notes:

The S Series is a wing for everybody and every discipline. We have designed this foil with a foil section that provides early smooth and predictable lift. With a mid to high aspect ratio and a high lift foil section the rider is able to use a smaller area foil to give more maneuverability, extreme glide and pumping efficiency to flow through turns and connect as many waves as you like. When pushed in the surf the wing tips will breach with ease and control and ride out of white water sections with confidence and stability under foot.

Features:

  • The ultimate all round wing, beginner to advanced
  • Prone, Wing, SUP or even Downwind this foil excels in all disciplines of foiling.
  • Adept in critical sections as well as drawing smooth flowing lines.
  • Suitable for all levels of rider.
  • The High Modulus 1130S is the go-to wing for heavier riders in all disciplines.
  • Currently available in five sizes 720, 850, 980, 1130 and 1300.

720S

We are excited to release the 720S. This loose and surfy front wing offers high manoeuvrability. It’s been a go-to in the surf for our test riders over the last few months. The small size still offers a huge amount of lift with superior pump and glide for a wing of its size. For winging, this has proven to be incredible; offering tight turns in the pocket as well as lightning speed in the straight line. For the heavier rider this wing may not be the best option, not to say our bigger riders haven’t been enjoying it.

850S

The 850s is designed to be an all round wing. This wing sits squarely in the middle of the range. It strikes a balance between early lift and dynamic surfability. For a mid-sized foil this wing offers superior glide and pump. Pair this with our new tails and fuselages to paint new lines in the water.

980S

The 980S is the wing that moves Code Foils towards the beginner market. It’s the perfect front wing for the intermediate foiler, and works great for learners when teamed with the long fuse and the 158AR tail. The amount of lift provided by a front wing under 1000 square centimetres is really impressive and something we are proud of. It is great for those with a little bit of foiling knowledge that want to experience a foil that turns hard and surfs in all disciplines, be it downwind, prone or dinging. Experienced riders will really enjoy this wing in super small swells and light conditions.

1130S High Modulus

The 1130S High Modulus front wing is designed for beginners, intermediates, and advanced riders in all disciplines, including downwind foiling, wing foiling, surf foiling, and dock starting. It offers a great range of speed, a low stall threshold, and excellent manoeuvrability. The tips breach without any downside, just like the other wings in the S series. For surf foilers, prone paddlers, and SUP riders, these front wings have already unlocked multiple wave linkups for so many of our riders. During our testing, we found that the 1130S is the go-to wing for heavier riders in all disciplines. For more experienced riders, it has also unlocked downwind foiling in windless conditions and effortless winging in light conditions.

1300S High Modulus

The 1300S High Modulus front wing is our beginner-friendly front wing, providing early and ample lift to get you up and foiling quickly across all disciplines. Its fantastic stability and high-modulus construction ensure a stiff and uncompromising performance. Dock starters will especially love this front wing's ease of use at slow speeds and exceptional glide for its size and span. Heavier prone foilers seeking to link multiple waves in tiny, gutless conditions while effortlessly cruising back to the lineup will adore this foil. This front wing opens up Code foils to beginners in the growing discipline of downwind foiling. It strikes the perfect balance between early lift and glide, allowing users to not only get up and foiling but also begin linking bumps in downwind conditions. For the more advanced rider across any discipline, be it wing foiling or dock starting, this wing will keep you foiling in any light or gutless conditions, even when the forecast isn't looking too good!

AR-Series Tail Wing

Sizes: 142AR / 150AR / 158AR / 175AR / 188AR

A/R 8.5 8.5 8.5 8.5 8.5

Designer Notes:

The AR Series tail is a wing for every level of foiler. We have designed this tail to feel smooth and predictable, giving the rider extreme confidence. This tail is at home in any discipline, carving, jumping or flowing down wind. The wings are designed and constructed to provide maximum stiffness with no compromise.

Features:

  • The most versatile tail wings in our range suitable for all levels of rider
  • Fast and extremely efficient with excellent glide.
  • Maneuverable with great carving ability.
  • Available in five sizes 142, 150, 158, 175 and 188

High Modulus Mast

Sizes: 75cm / 85cm

Designer Notes:

For the mast design we really wanted to prioritize stiffness and predictability. We did this through extending blends and making a deep mast to fuse connection eliminating any unwanted movement. Combined with a very efficient foil section this mast gives maximum glide and pumps with no loss of energy from unwanted wobbles.

Features:

  • All our Masts are constructed with high modulus carbon resulting in a stiff strong mast with no compromise.
  • Extended blend to base plate designed to give extra stiffness and a rock solid feeling under your feet giving maximum feedback to each pump and turn.
  • Tapered towards the bottom of the mast to increase glide and efficiency

Fuselage

Sizes: S / M / L

We offer three lengths of fuselages to provide more versatility to our range. In addition to the medium, we have the ‘small’ and the ‘large’ fuse. These are 30mm shorter and longer than the medium respectively.

The small offers a higher cadence pump and even further manoeuvrability to the range, whereas the large fuselage offers greater pitch stability and is great for learning. A lot of downwind foilers love the large fuse as it offers further stability with a slower cadence pump. They offer the same unique joining system and tail mounting surface as our medium fuse.

Designer Notes:

When designing our fuselage our main goals were strength, stiffness and absolutely zero movement in the joins. We also wanted the setup to be adaptable so we have made the fuse in 3 different lengths and provided the option to change tail wings simply and quickly to find the perfect setup for each rider.

Features:

  • Our fuselage is designed for total stiffness and versatility in mind, giving you the ability to customise your setup with three different fuse lengths.
  • Add to this the ability to change your tail wing and to shim to suit your unique style and feel.
  • A unique joining system providing a join with zero movement!
  • Available in three lengths, small, medium and large depending on how you ride.
  • We've designed the tail mounting plate with m6 bolts, 30mm apart. Riders can mount their favourite tails to the code setup if they wish for more versatility and experimentation.

Session Impressions

Rider: Skip  |  Location: Ferrysburg  |  Conditions: Strong SW

I initially rigged a 4.5m, but I was overpowered and switched to the tried-and-true 3.5m Duotone Unit, the non-SLS version with the boom.

  • Wing: 3.5m Duotone Unit (non-SLS with boom)
  • Board: 2024 70-liter KT
  • Front Wing: Code 850S

I am really impressed with how the Duotone Unit handles in the waves and flags out. Even though it isn't a dedicated flagging wing, they put a lot of work into making the weight comparable so that it flies level and doesn't drop like previous units. I also appreciate having the boom. I wasn't a fan to begin with, but I enjoy the extra real estate it provides when you are grabbing at the wing while riding a wave. Being able to grab anywhere between those two handles without looking is a great benefit while I continue to learn how to ride waves with the front handle.

The Code 850S front wing is excellent for the waves. It has a very surfy feel and moves back and forth nicely without locking in. Because of the wave height, I was riding high on the mast to ensure I didn't clip the waves, which allowed me to maintain my speed through the turns. I am also looking forward to trying the KT Arc board, which seems to be a shop favorite. It was another great day on Lake Michigan.

Rider: Jeff  |  Conditions: Gusty, 22-32 knots

I just got off the water, and it was ripping. With a south push yesterday shifting northwest today, there was a lot of movement and energy on the water, but also some very nice wedge waves to be had.

Due to the pitchy waves, I decided to size down to the Code 720S. I usually ride the 850, but the 720 was the right choice today because it provided less feedback in the chaotic water.

Here is what you can expect from the Code S:

  • Stability and Smoothness: It is incredibly stable, very smooth, and offers good lift for its size. If you are an experienced foiler, you can easily size down.
  • Pumping Performance: It pumps extremely well for a surfy foil. As long as you keep the foil high, it has a great glide-to-turn ratio.
  • Maneuverability: It is a foil that you can push. It releases easily and can feel "skatey," yet it holds incredibly well when you put your weight into a turn.
  • Confidence Booster: It is perfect for boosting your confidence when riding waves, turning, and pumping to connect to other waves.

I was riding it with the 150 tail, which worked great, though you could size down with it as well. Ultimately, the Code S is a foil that anyone can jump on after they have learned the basics of foiling. It has a great speed-to-turn ratio, is very stable, and cuts through rough water smoothly.

Rider: Jeff (175 lbs)

I've had quite a few sessions on one of my favorite foils that we sell, the Code S-Series, and I wanted to share my experience on the 850 and the 720.

Code S 850

The 850 is a surf foil that stands above the pack with its speed and glide. It pumps very easily and is highly efficient. With active rider input, it will easily link turns and surf the powered-up part of the wave while remaining stable and smooth. You do want to push this foil a little more—meaning put more input into your turns—and it will feel locked-in and highly efficient on the wave. When pumping to connect to other waves, it pumps better than just about anything on the market.

Sizing Recommendations

The Code S foils have a lot of lift for their size, so I recommend sizing down. If you are trying to decide between the 850 and the 720, here are a few things to consider:

  • At 175 lbs, in waist-high or larger shore break waves, the 720 is the most enjoyable option because it is easier to control the speed and lift.
  • The 850 is better suited for slightly smaller waves.
  • Because of the incredible lift and efficiency once up on foil, you can easily size down.

The 720 is far easier to handle because these foils are designed to be ridden in the energy and pocket of the wave, especially in shore break. While you can take the Code S downwinding due to its pumpability and speed, it is truly at home surfing waves. It feels incredibly smooth, stable, and locked-in when turning and carving. If you are debating between two sizes, I highly recommend sizing down.
