Introducing the FLY

*LEASH NOT INCLUDED*

Neil Pryde's first entry into the wing market is a unique one.  Designer Nils Rosenblad has a history of creative designs in windsports and the Fly wing is no exception.  The Fly wing is designed for maximum lift, stiffness, and raw power for its size so you can ride a smaller sail.  We've yet to test it (review pending demo wing) but we hear rave reviews from some of the test team which we trust.  The ergonomic hard handles look excellent and we are very excited to explore new frontiers of small wing ability soon.

High lift, ultra efficient wing. Dramatically increased range and power, allowing you to use a far smaller wing than is typical in each set of conditions.

Features:

HIGH LIFT CONCEPT

Due to the highly refined LE geometry and entry shaping, each wing produces the maximum thrust (power and acceleration) for its size. This dramatically increases the range, allowing riders to use a smaller wing than is typical in each set of conditions. The result is easier handling and greater maneuverability.

HIGH TENSION CANOPY WITH STRUCTURED CAMBER LENS

The 3D shape of the canopy leading edge is defined by a series of transverse panels that converge at the wingtips. This leverages the LE Tube structure to maximize tension in the critical entry sections – the result is more lift and a higher stall angle for better acceleration in light winds, and the ability to fly efficiently at low angles of attack for better control and higher top speeds in strong winds.

VENTED STRUT

The large opening between the LE and the front of the fill panel (which connects the canopy to the strut) allows the pressure to equalize across the two sides of the wing. This improves overall performance and makes the wing even more stable.

Innovation:

Designed and tested at our NeilPryde Maui Design Center by Nils Rosenblad, former NeilPryde Windsurfing sail designer and America's Cup engineer, then further developed through our team's feedback from across the world. No stone is left uncovered in our relentless drive to be the best at what we do.

    NP Fly wing

Posted by Steve s on 10th Feb 2024

Pros: Great quality in materials and build. Valves are user friendly. Incredibly stable (very little wobble) and predictable both when riding and luffing to catch waves, handle gusts well, price point. The handles are excellent! And the wings pump to 8.5psi Cons: As told by other reviewers, they do flutter on the trailing edge but only in certain flight positions. I’d say they are better for someone who has a bit of experience with wing foiling as these particulars wings respond quickly to input. *Overall an underrated wing in my opinion.
