Founded by Kiwi wing foiler and tech entrepreneur Nigel Thompson, WAKA set out to rethink board travel from the ground up. Instead of downsizing performance or relying on inflatables, they developed the TravelFold system, a patent-pending structural hinge built directly into the board using carbon and Kevlar composites. The result is a rigid, all-carbon board that packs down small but rides like a true one-piece shape. After extensive testing in places like Hood River, New Zealand, and La Ventana, Mexico, the concept became the WAKA Glide, a mid-length board tuned for light wind efficiency and smooth performance. Every board includes a padded travel bag, with an optional rolling system that fits your board, foil, and wings for airline-friendly travel.
