Details
Designed with a refined bridle system for a clean canopy profile, the Pocket Rocket parawing offers smooth, efficient power for easy foiling control. It allows you to blast upwind effortlessly, and then easily packs away for riding swells downwind.
A color-coded control bar, bridle lines and standout leading edge make it easy to identify and quickly redeploy the wing when needed. Its compact size and easy deployment also make it ideal for spots requiring a paddle out. Ozone's renowned paraglider and foil kite design technology enhances stability and performance across all riding angles, especially when depowered.
Drawing from years of experience in paraglider and foil kite design, Ozone crafted the Pocket Rocket for both friendly handling and high-performance freeriding. Stability when depowered was key, refined through insights from their Explore snowkite program.
Leading-edge profile battens maintain aerodynamic integrity when depowering, and a carefully balanced cell and rib construction prevents tip collapse, delivering stable, comfortable riding. Transverse sail shaping along the leading edge creates a cleaner surface on the most important area of the aerofoil. The result is less turbulent airflow and longer skin adhesion, which positively affects the lift-to-drag ratio increasing overall performance.
Through smooth handling you can save your energies for adventure, rather than battling the wing.
How does it compare to wingfoiling or kitesurfing?
The Pocket Rocket produces similar power per size compared to an inflatable wingfoil wing, but flies more like a kite due to its bridled structure. It also offers a stronger initial downwind pull than a wingfoil wing.
To get going and come up on the foil, let the board be pulled in the downwind direction that the Pocket Rocket naturally first wants to pull you. Once riding, use the bar for smooth power control and adjust your angle for upwind progress.

High Performance Ultra Light Materials
Durable, airtight and lightweight double rip-stop Nylon material for the upper and lower surfaces. The material has a unique formulated coating to help shed water, improving flying characteristics and water re-launch.
Single Surface Design
The single surface generates ample lift with low airspeed, resulting in easy and forgiving handling, while still providing the power to get up on foil. Additionally this offers unique low-end flying characteristics with instant and efficient de-power. With only one skin, weight and pack volume minimal, ideal for quick and easy packing or stashing.
Optimized Bridle Lines
High-quality, colour-coded bridle lines with optimized thickness ensure tangle free handling, making launching and packing easy. Featuring spliced loop-to-loop connections, these bridles glide smoothly through your hands and eliminate snagging.
Leading Edge Profile Reinforcements
The leading edge is reinforced with flexible lightweight plastic battens to maintain the shape of the profile during angle of attack changes and turbulent airflow. This drastically improves overall performance as the foil remains true to the designed shape.
Transverse Sail Shaping
The Leading Edge features Transverse Sail Shaping creating a cleaner surface on the most important area of the aerofoil. The result is less turbulent airflow and longer skin adhesion, which positively affects the lift to drag ratio increasing overall performance.
Spanwise Bridge Lines
Lines running across the underside of the wing distribute load from the bridles evenly and effectively. This avoids excessive span-wise tension being transmitted into the canopy and allows its profile and billow to be controlled more precisely.
Tuned Bridle Geometry
We work extensively during our R&D process to develop the size range to feel in tune with each other. Every kite has a unique bridle layout, individually tested and fine-tuned to maximize the feeling and performance.
Harness Line Connection
A harness line can be attached to the control bar - hook in for less arm fatigue and longer sessions.
Parawing Bag
- Lightweight and spacious
- Internal stash pocket
- Mesh panels for breathability
- Shoulder carry strap
"The Pocket Rocket is the simple feeling of freedom in its pure state and lets me feel even more connected to the sea and the waves. Though you don't need to use one, I like to ride powered up using my harness and the upwind performance is similar to a wingfoil. Thanks to the line bridge along the span, the clean, single-skin canopy stays super stable, even at the top end of the range when sheeted out. Short length bridles have been carefully calculated so you can pack the wing quickly and easily while riding on the foil. I just love it!"

North Sonar SF Front Wing
We’ve engineered our Sonar Surf Series for super low stall speeds, effortless pumping and surf-style carving. Ideal for riders wanting more from surf and downwind swells (with or without a wing). The foils insensitivity to angle of attack change forgiveness means you don’t have to be an expert or have perfect pumping technique. A refined balance of roll stability and manoeuvrability gives you confidence during pumping and take-offs, and the ability to initiate powerful rail-to-rail carves. Push it harder, lip stall and lay down banking turns, knowing tip ventilation is a thing of the past. Reduced distance between the mast and front wing makes for faster, tighter pivoting turns. We’ve kept the span similar between the three sizes, providing the same ride feel across the entire size range. The SF promises that frictionless sensation of glide at slower speeds. Responsive and agile. With intuitive recovery. Wakesurfing ten waves back, prone-surfing, wing-surfing, pumping or mastering the downwind. The Sonar SF Series. At one, with it all.

2025 Starboard Above Limited Series
Mid-size range. Longer and narrower designs for a user-friendly foiling experience.
The Above development took inspiration from learnings in downwind SUP and Wingfoiling. Learning from the longer, narrow designs of the Ace Foil, we wanted the same efficiency and speed to take off in light winds. However, we aimed for more maneuverability and forgiveness on touchdowns, requiring slightly shorter lengths while maintaining the narrow outlines crucial for fast take-offs. Combining the parallel mid-section from the Take Off range, the pronounced Vee nose from the X-15, and a compromise to widen the nose and tail outline, we created the Above.

Features:
- VEE SHAPED NOSE - Inspired by the X15 and Take Off ranges, the Vee nose reduces drag for early take-offs, allowing you to get up flying faster. It is more forgiving on touchdowns, enabling quick recovery to rebound and continue flying. The nose is slightly wider than the Ace Foil, providing greater control and stability before flight.
- PARALLEL MID-SECTION - The mid-section of the outline is kept straight for a predictable and balanced ride. This improves overall stability and tracking for a controlled glide to take-off.
- FLAT DECK - The deck is kept flat to utilize the full width, offering more space and comfort from these narrow outlines. It remains thin over the foil for control and responsiveness, while the nose and tail volume balance the trim.
- ROUND PIN TAIL - Drawing from the success of the Ace, the pin tail helps pop the board out of the water. As you shift your weight to sink the tail, the nose lifts, forcing you to lift out of the water. The tail has a slight Vee for an efficient release, ensuring fast speed and efficiency. The wider tail offers more stability for a controlled take-off.
- BOXY RAILS - Boxy rails reduce the overall width while maintaining the stability of a wider board, leading to better efficiency and faster take-offs. This design feature, inspired by years of race development, allows riders to manage narrower boards easily.
- BOTTOM SHAPE - A vee round nose helps for efficient take offs and recovers well on touch downs, feeding to a flat bottom for maximum stability, exiting with a round tail for a smooth release.
- 14” US BOX - The 14” US box with a rear slot provides various foil positions depending on the foil type, riding style, and conditions. Position the foil in the center of the box for most uses.
- Early production boards have 16″ boxes.
- CUSTOM INSERTS - Multiple foot strap inserts offer numerous options to dial in your preferred stance for optimal control and comfort.
