Meet The Emissary

The ultimate wave riding instrument for advanced foilers. Although the Flux remains Omen's mainstay, for those with the experience and desire to push their connection with the ocean's energy even further, the smaller sizes of the Emissary deliver more for less.

Along with the obvious gain in length and reduction in width, the hull shape has been optimized for even greater efficiency at takeoff. While this comes at the cost of some of the incredible ease of use the Flux is known for, it provides the ability to further downsize your board without any loss of low end.

Smaller Sizes - High Performance Wing and Prone

For wingers, the 35L, 44L, and 55L are designed to be ridden around 55% of bodyweight in kg and paired with a dedicated light wind board like the 66L or 78L Emissary.

Dedicated prone foilers will find themselves sizing up a few liters from their standard board and enjoying the increased paddling speed. The construction and shape provide a responsive and nimble feel with smooth touchdown recovery at any angle of impact with the water. The wide point has been pushed further forward to make pop ups more stable than one would expect given the dimensions.

Larger Sizes - Advanced Lightwind Wing and Parawing

Through iterations of CFD simulation, prototyping, and testing, the design of the larger Emissaries diverged enough for them to be split into a unique sub range dedicated to low powered sail conditions. Be this parawinging or super lightwind winging, the combination of efficiency and performance will get you foiling waves with the least amount of sail input.

Driven by hydrodynamics, the minimized volume in the nose and tail also significantly reduce swing-weight despite the longer lengths. The width is based on the ideal stance width of the target size riders controlling higher aspect foils ideal for underpowered conditions.

Specs:

Each Emissary is shipped with our new deckpad material factory installed. Being dedicated wave boards, the Emissaries have no strap inserts to maximally reduce weight. For a board more suitable to jumping and freestyle check out the Omen Flux.

Intermediate/heavier riders should also consider the 84L Flux, 95L SuperMarine, and 105L SuperMarine as a lightwind/parawing board.

• Confidence inspiring - The combination of touchdown recovery, responsiveness, and low centre of gravity during water starts will have you feeling like a hero in the wildest conditions. Zero-rocker through the standing area of the deck and a slightly more aggressive concave than the Flux provides a comfortable and locked in feeling while riding strapless. Despite the narrower hull design, careful dimensioning of the standing area along with a full coverage deck pad ensures heel and toe pressure is effectively translated into powerful signals to your foil.

• Smooth Cross Over - Similar to the Flux, the Emissary is perfectly suited to both wing and prone foiling. Our philosophy is that regardless of the power source used to get on foil, the parameters of a great wave foil board remain the same. So rather than a compromised design the Emissary is the perfect two in one. 

• Take off and Release... - The tail of the larger sizes have been optimized for building speed in a straight line while minimizing drag during the higher angles of attack needed for optimal foil take off. In addition to hydrodynamic efficiency, the chines becoming progressively steeper towards the rear provide better rail clearance in critical turns as well as great release when the board does touch down at a high bank angle.

• Sizing Recommendations - For those familiar with the Flux, you can size down one level in the Emissary (60L -> 55L, 48L -> 44L, etc) for an all round performance improvement at the expense of a more demanding learning curve. The 55L is also an excellent all rounder/one board quiver for smaller riders.

• Low Drag Carry Handle - Being slightly wider and thicker, the 78L Emissary includes a built in FCS II box and mini G10 fin. The fin functions as a streamlined and lightweight handle for those whose arms are not long enough to carry the 78L like a surfboard. This system allows the fin to be reversed, providing two handle positions which balance a wider range of foil mounting positions.

• Made in the EU - The Emissary is built to last. The Appletree factory in Portugal applies a full carbon layup over a CNC cut closed-cell foam core. Vacuum resin infusion technology is used to saturate the cloth and achieve the ideal fiber to resin ratio to optimize stiffness and durability. This process is what allows Appletree to create a permanent bond to their proprietary foam core, and uniquely results in a board that will not be damaged by water ingress - even if the outer skin is damaged. Along with their world renowned track reinforcing technology, the Emissary is a board you can rely on to maintain peak performance for years to come.
