What Wing Foiling Gear Should You Upgrade First? Looking at New Wings
So you've purchased your first wing foiling package and have started to get pretty comfortable on it. You're up and foiling, and you've even got your first transitions pretty dialed in. You're having a blast and want to keep progressing. What should your next gear purchase be?
What Are the Options?
There are essentially three components in a wing foiling setup. The wing and the foil, of course, and your board. Should you downsize your foil? Or maybe the board? A new wing might be nice...

What Will Get You More Time on the Water?
They say practice makes perfect, and that holds true with wing foiling. The more sessions you get, the more you will progress. So, which piece of gear will get you more sessions? Most of the time, it's the wing.
Have you ever loaded up your gear, headed to the beach, and found you couldn't go out? Why was that? It was probably the wind. Maybe it was too light, or maybe it was way too strong and you'd have had your wing ripped out of your hands. If you'd had a bigger or smaller wing, you'd have been out there having fun and learning instead of packing up and going back home.

Which Wing is Right for Me?
That really depends on what you already have and what the conditions are at your local spot. Think about those days when the conditions keep you off the water. If you get a lot of light wind days, a larger wing would be a great addition to your quiver. If you mostly get days that are too much for your wing, then a smaller wing would be ideal.
If you get some of both, then go with the smaller wing. Those are better conditions for winging and you'll progress more when you're powered up.

Your beginner board and foil will still work fine in most conditions, but we'll be back soon with another guide on when and how to upgrade those.
