Post-Ride Care for Your Waydoo Flyer eFoil
Today we’re going to cover three quick tips that will help prolong the life and performance of your new Waydoo Flyer E-foil. Basic maintenance on these boards is very simple to do after riding and will help improve the long-term performance of the components.
Rinse Thoroughly.
After every use, you should rinse off each component thoroughly with fresh water at normal pressure. This will help with corrosion and salt build-up on the components.
- To clean the Power Assembly & Wing Set, align the water inlet of the motor mount with a freshwater hose and clean the motor mount for approx. 30 seconds to ensure that the motor mount is clean and free of debris. Next, clean the motor shroud, propeller, and propeller guard. Afterward, clean the mast plug. Make sure to remove any salt, sand, or other debris that is found. Finally, clean the mast.
- Rinse the battery, battery terminal, and buttons with fresh water. Use a dry towel to dry the battery and buttons. Let it stand in a dry environment to remove the remaining water.
- Rinse the remote control with fresh water. Make sure to get water in and behind the trigger. If you find that there is a jam when pulling the trigger, check whether there is any sand or debris in the trigger.
Dry Completely
After you have cleaned all of your components make sure to dry everything off well before putting the parts back in the cases for storing or charging. Making sure that everything is dry will help keep your bags fresh and the components of the Waydoo Flyer One free of corrosion and functioning properly.
Long-term Storage
For long-term storage of the battery any time greater than two to three weeks, you will want to keep the battery at roughly 40-60% charge state. This is the healthiest state to keep the battery stored in. If you are keeping the battery stored long-term over the winter, check the battery level once or twice a month and recharge as needed. Like all lithium-ion batteries, they will lose a small amount of charge over time. Make sure to keep your battery in a cool dry place.
Happy Flying
