What KT has to say:

Safety, stability, and easy progression for beginner to intermediate foilers.

Features:

  • Swept Wing Design: Enhances stability and intuitive control, allowing riders to predictably manage lift and smoothly navigate turns and jibes.
  • Refined Balanced Airfoil: Trades a small amount of range for a smooth, stable, and effortless flight.
  • Solid Feel Underfoot: Offers stability, control, and predictable flight.
  • Intuitive Pitch Stability: Long chord length and large tails provide steady handling.
  • Safe Design: Rounded tips, soft edges, and durable connections enhance safety.
  • Forgiving Control: Ideal for learning and mastering the basics of wing foiling.

*You have to use a shim*

Important.

Without the use of a Shim the performance of your Foil is compromised.

Feeling:

Instinct feels extremely intuitive, stable and confidence inspiring. Lift comes on smoothly, pitch remains predictable, and stall resistance is unbelievable. The foil stays flying even when tips breach the surface, helping riders recover instead of stalling or dropping suddenly.

Due to lower aspect design, the Instinct remains fun to turn. It rolls smoothly rail to rail and does not feel locked in, making it enjoyable for Foil Assist sessions, towing, and early carving practice. The balance between stability and playfulness helps riders progress faster while still having fun.

Speed:

Speed is intentionally secondary to control on Instinct. Acceleration is smooth and manageable, with a comfortable cruising pace that allows riders to focus on balance, stance, and wing handling rather than managing everything else.

Efficiency is tuned for early lift and low speed flight rather than purely glide. The large area and section design reduce the effort required to get on foil and stay flying while learning.

Speed Ranges:

  • 720 cm²: 9 – 31 mph
  • 920 cm²: 8 – 28.5 mph
  • 1120 cm²: 7.5 – 27 mph
  • 1300 cm²: 7 – 25.5 mph
  • 1450 cm²: 6.5 – 25 mph
