Foil Drive Fusion Complete Trench Kit
About The Package
The Foil drive Fusion blurs the line between foil assist and high performance e-foil. If you want a setup you can efoil with the family and then go ride waves look no further. The Sunova trench board can be summed up as user friendly performance. The larger size is perfect for new riders while the smaller sizes are great for anyone who already knows how to foil, but is looking to electrify their experience. The code s series is the perfect foil for this combo, fitting into the theme of user friendly performance. Known as one of the easiest performance foils to ride, this setup will take your riding to a whole new level.
MAC's Take On The Foil Drive Fusion
After inventing and dominating the E-assist space for years, Foil Drive has now given us a system that can deliver legitimate E-foil performance along with its class-leading versatility. Every day is now a foil day!
In the past, everyone had to decide if they wanted an Efoil with lots of range and power OR an E-assist, which provides lightweight performance, versatility, and adaptability. They each have their advantages, but what if you are somewhere in the middle? Straddling that grey line of indecision when you could be out foiling until your cheeks hurt. Thankfully, the Fusion fits perfectly in that middle space. Giving Efoil level range & power without the heavy gear and limited adaptability. The Foil Drive Fusion turns any foilboard into an Efoil suitable for new riders to pros. This, with only a subtle increase in total weight & volume.
In addition to providing that ideal Hybrid E-foil/assist experience, the Fusion system also improves other notable aspects of the user experience. The new remote offers a geared speed selection option, which is ideal for honing in on your perfect riding speeds without jumpy response or sore trigger fingers. It’s also the key to making learning easy for family and friends. For more experienced riders, the new boost button is also added for quick power when you need it.
The display is now brighter and easier to see. Especially in bright sunlight. The removable trigger guard feature prevents accidental throttling for more beginner friendliness. Foil Drive has also found ways to improve the durability of the remote for longer life and fewer services required. The new remote also functions with all Foil Drive systems, so you can upgrade your existing system as well.
Foil Drivers have long been asking for an improved smart charging system, and it’s delivered with the Fusion E-assist. The battery itself is simplified with more power and an integrated nose cone. The smart charger locks to the battery and delivers power level readout, quick charging/ discharging with storage mode, thermal management system, as well as functionality with Max and Sport batteries. A neat bonus is the USB-A and USB-C connections so you can charge your remote, cell phone, ect…
An additional upgrade which is included with Fusion assist is the M7 titanium Split bolts, which work will all foil types and make assembly easier. Thankfully, the Fusion unit is equipped with a sacrificial anode, which reduces corrosion even further! There is also a nifty battery Caddy with a handle to protect the battery terminal and make carrying super comfortable. Similarly, they include a unit handle which has a tool/parts caddy sliding into the battery compartment when not in use.
FAQ's:
- What advantages/disadvantages does the Fusion system have over Max/Slim and other Assist systems?
- Most notably, range and torque. The Foil Drive Fusion system provides the highest ratio of range/torque to weight/volume of any assist or Efoil system.
- Disadvantages include being slightly larger and heavier than other Foil Drive units. Compared to most dedicated efoils, it has slightly less runtime per battery.
- Does the Fusion battery work on my Max, Slim, or Assist+ unit? Max/slim on Fusion? Remote?
- NO, the Fusion battery requires the Fusion Unit. However, your existing parts can be used in conjunction with the Fusion Unit and battery. EG. Motor, cord, Mast adapters, Props, ect… *Older remotes will have less functionality than the new design.
- Max and Slim batteries are NOT functional with the Fusion unit.
- V3 Fusion Remote is backward compatible with all previous Foil Drive systems. *remote a-la-carte available in early 2026
- Do I need a different cord length for Fusion if I’m re-using my Max/Slim cord?
- You can use the existing cord(s), but they will have a 6cm shorter effective length due to the plug position. EG. A 25cm cord would have roughly a 19cm effective length and so forth…
- Do I need the HP motor for the Fusion?
- No, V2 works well too. However, we do find it’s best suited for the Foil Drive Fusion system objectives of more power and runtime.
- Will the Fusion unit fit into my trench board?
- It would depend on the model and your preferred mast placement. Feel free to use this diagram to compare to your channel measurements and box placement to confirm… 656mm x 150mm x 53mm dims (*166mm width for latch function while connected. Same as Max)
