You know what sounds terrible? A foil that can be assembled in 30 seconds, fits in a 100 cm travel bag, pumps back to the fifth wake and returns to the first wake without stalling, surfs and carves better than your buddies foil, and oh yeah, never makes you worry about losing your hardware. You’re right… that sounds awful.

After four years as a employee here at MACkite, cycling through countless sizes and models of different brands, I felt like I could never find my do-it-all "perfect foil" for behind the boat. A foil where its not too small to pump yet not too big to surf that first wake. With that, I was also in a constant fight between trade offs. Leaving the foil put together in a boat full of passengers is never an easy feat and with a short set up time where less hardware typically meant a looser fit, leading up to worse results compared to a foil unit with multiple screw points that can be lost or even stripped. To give you some perspective, outside of the summer months, I attend Michigan State University where I serve as both social chair and a  team rider for the MSU Wakeboarding Club where I'm able to foil before, in between, and after classes 5 days a week with the boat at full capacity. We have wakeboarders, wake surfers, and now, wake foilers. Having a foil behind the boat is all fun and games until it has to come on the boat and thanks to the new One-lock system from Slingshot, it completely takes the storage dread away.
