Ride Engine
Ride Engine started because normal harnesses weren’t cutting it. Built out of a Santa Cruz garage by a rider who wanted better support and a cleaner fit, the brand quickly became known for hard-shell harnesses that actually make sense. Purpose-built, body-hugging, and very much rider-driven.

About Ride Engine
Ride Engine is best known for its hard-shell kiteboarding harnesses, originally developed by Santa Cruz waterman Coleman Buckley after getting frustrated with what was on the market. The goal wasn’t to reinvent everything, just to build a harness that fit better, stayed put, and transferred load more efficiently. That thinking led to the Armor harness, which changed how a lot of riders think about back support and customization. Since then, Ride Engine has expanded into wetsuits, bags, and accessories, but the core idea stays the same: functional gear designed with real riding in mind. Collaboration with experienced riders and athletes plays a big role in how their products evolve. If you want support you can trust, a locked-in feel, and gear that doesn’t fight your riding, Ride Engine delivers.
