Thanks to the design collaboration between Damien Girardin & Ralf Groesel, SUPERMODEL 2025 went through significant updates in shape, bridles and construction technology to deliver the absolute best performance in the do-it-all segment. It’s easier and more intuitive than ever to ride, thanks to a lighter bar pressure and quicker response. The lighter feel makes it easier to handle in strong winds, unlocking a next level of boosting.

The new pulley-less bridle setup is tuned to keep pulling you higher up in the sky with effortless hangtime, and gives the ability to de-power the kite much further within the bar stroke, for a lot more control. The new addition of Trailing Edge stiffeners reduce trailing edge drag during the turn, combined with weight savings and HTF3, make SUPERMODEL 2025 loop significantly faster. The pull and catch are so smooth and predictable that anyone from first-time loopers to technical kiteloop variations will feel more confident and motivated than ever to push their level.

For those unfamiliar with SuperModel, can you introduce the kite to us?

SUPERMODEL is made to become an extension of your body. It doesn’t matter what type of board your riding, the conditions or your level, SUPERMODEL DOES IT. It has been tested in literally every kind of conditions and disciplines through so many years now, we’ve pushed it to a point where it has become so versatile and intuitive that it performs for everybody.

So how could you even make it any better?
This biggest thing this year is that I started working with Ralf on HYPERMODEL. Last year I thought the kite was as good as it could ever get, but being able to put things that we developed together for HYPER into this years SUPER really gave it a huge step in performance and handling.

What would be most notable from all those changes?
One of the things people will notice is that the kite became much smoother, more comfortable and thus easier to ride. There is more depower available on the bar stroke which make it easier to control and to hold your edge right before you jump, elevating your whole riding experience.

What is the main reason for that?
One of the key reasons is the switch to a pulley-less (fixed) bridle system. We reworked the whole geometry of the bridles and changed the tow-point to help SUPERMODEL shoot forward easier. Another attribution is the addition of fibreglass battens in the trailing edge. This reduces flutter and hugely improves how it goes through and out of the turn, and this is what makes the catch after a kiteloop so much better than before.

Great! What other updates have you made?
We’ve also increased the amount of FLEXLITE in the Leading Edge, which was possible thanks to the updated bridles. Basically the bridles hold the shape of the kite better, which then allows for the FLEXLITE material to be placed another segment higher, allowing for more twist and thus a better steering kite. So effectively making SUPERMODEL 2025 both more solid and better steering.

SUPERMODEL 2025 also feels a little lighter on the bar, correct?
A couple things have attributed to that. One thing is that the fixed bridle system gives it a lighter and more direct feel. We’ve also moved the pigtail connections 2cm further back, creating more leverage when steering. Less bar pressure also contributes to the smoother feeling of the kite.
