Designed for you if:
- You ride downwind or open ocean conditions
- You want a board that recovers cleanly from touchdowns
- You push speed and carving on water
Hard Riding Control:
The Project Drag Boards are built for the swell and wave rider. Designed by Ken Adgate and Kyle Touhey around high commitment turns, messy touchdowns, and real ocean conditions, these boards stay stable when you are pushing yourself. With an out-of-this-world rocker line, rounded bottom shaping, and aggressive chines, they release cleanly from the water and prevent any sort of rail catch when leaned over. This is a board built by riders pushing the limits.
Features:
- Rounded Bottom Shape - Allows the nose and forward section to peel off the water quickly during touchdowns.
- Aggressive Chines - Reduce rail catches and allow the board to redirect instead of tripping up.
- Increased Tail Rocker - Prevents the tail from sticking and improves pumping and maneuverability.
- Matched Rocker Profile - Follows the curve of swell for a more natural feel in those conditions.
- Tuttle System Integration - Creates a stiff and low drag direct connection between board and foil for increased control.
- Carbon tracks - Creates a stiff direct connection between board and foil for direct control.

Session Impressions
It was a light day, making it the perfect opportunity to run down and test some exciting new gear. For this session, I rode the Slingshot Project Drag board (84L, 6'0") paired with the KT Solus 930 foil, an Atom stabilizer, and an Apex mast. To ensure I had enough power in the light wind, I paired this setup with the PT Skin 7.3m parawing.
The gear performed incredibly well together, offering a highly responsive and fast ride. Here are my main takeaways from the session:
- Slingshot Project Drag Board: The board felt like home right from the start. While it does not skip onto plane immediately and requires a bit of encouragement with a light pumping motion, once you unweight your body and plane off the hull, it accelerates incredibly quickly. Its low-drag design is highly efficient. Once up, the board is super stiff and responsive.
- KT Solus 930 Foil: This foil is a speed-building machine. It creates excellent forward momentum, making it surprisingly easy to get on foil even in light conditions. The board's stiffness, combined with the foil's impressive glide, turned the minor wind chop into a fun, gliding playground.
- PT Skin 7.3m Parawing: Having the extra grunt of the 7.3m parawing was crucial for getting up in the light wind near the shore. Once in deeper water, it handled the apparent wind beautifully. I found that a behind-the-back jibe is the most effective technique when riding this parawing in light conditions.
Overall, it was a fantastic, quick session. The convenience of just throwing out the parawing without needing to inflate anything is a game-changer.
