What's New:

• AEROLITE FRAME TECHNOLOGY - Our new high tenacity polyester material: Aerolite, provides everything we had from HTF in one stronger, lighter material. The material is woven to provide excellent stiffness that keeps the shape and profile of the kite, while allowing the material to bend, to give superb steering characteristics.
• FIXED BRIDLE - Our rebalanced bridle geometry achieves greater depower, with carefully tuned tow-point for easier jumping and endless hangtime.
• REDUCED WEIGHT - Through smart reinforcements, and reduced LE segments we've managed to reduce the weight of SUPERMODEL A.F.T. even further. A lighter kite means quicker response, and faster flying to 12 for higher jumps and quicker catches.
• REDUCED LE DIAMETER - AEROLITE allowed Damien to shrink the LE diameter further. Allowing the kite to fly faster and shoot further forward in the wind window.

Damien Girardin - About SUPERMODEL A.F.T.

For those unfamiliar with SUPERMODEL, can you introduce the kite to us?

• SuperModel is the kite that started it all for us. It is based on the idea that you should not have to switch kites when changing disciplines or location. SuperModel does it, no matter what you throw at it. Kevin often references SuperModel as an extension of his body. This is because the goal with SuperModel has always been to make it as intuitive as possible; you position it exactly where you want, and you always know where it is. One of the key reasons for that is because a big focus has been on how the kite turns. The way it starts to turn, instantly on bar input, the way it pulls through the turn, enough to have a fun kite loop, enough to do a proper bottom turn, enough to provide plenty second lift, and the way it finishes the turn, with great speed so you can generate speed and apparent wind. In the end, all these characteristics make for a kite that gives you great jumps, great waveriding, and easy starts for any level of riders.

What does the new AEROLITE material do to SUPERMODEL?

• Aerolite is woven out of a high tenacity polyester yarn, we have already tested for a few years on our wings and on kite prototypes. The higher grade yarn delivers a material that is now stiffer in both the weft and warp, which technically translates into an overall stiffer Leading Edge. Think of better support of the arc, so a more stable and stiffer arc. Thanks to the higher-grade yarn, the weaving of Aerolite does not have to be as tight as regular Dacron, and this translates into a Leading Edge that will also twist very well.

How does A.F.T. compare to HTF?

• Aerolite is the ideal material and replaces our previous Hybrid Leading Edge concept because it provides stiffness for Arc Support and easy twist for fast turning. This was the essence of our HTF construction that required two different materials with arc Support in the center of the kite and twist towards the tips. Now with AFT, the entire Leading Edge is working to achieve these two goals!

SUPERMODEL got even lighter for 2026. How did you achieve this?

• Ever since we started working with BrainChild and their amazing technology that allowed us to make the lightest kites on the market, I have been on a mission to also make our more affordable construction as light as possible. To achieve this, I have spent a lot of time in our production facility questioning every piece of material and every stitching we’re doing. The result has been simply a smarter and more efficient construction for our kites. Every seam, every reinforcement is only positioned where it’s needed, every material we use is carefully chosen for its performance and weight.

SUPERMODEL features a fixed bridle for the second year now. What can people expect from it?

• Bridles are probably one of the most important aspects of a kite; this is literally where you hold your kite from when flying, so having bridles perfectly balanced is my ever-chasing grail! This year, thanks to the new AFT construction and lighter weight overall, the balance of SuperModel has changed, and it allowed us to adjust the bridle in order to improve the bridle even further. SuperModel now flies further in the window and is even less grunty than it was, for a smoothness and ease of use rarely seen on a kite. The choice of going towards fixed bridles came from the fact that with our new bridle platform, we were capable of reaching high levels of angle of attack control (which translates into high de-power) without the need for pulleys.
