The X-Ride has been the best selling board in the range for some time now, and with good reason. It is the most versatile board in North's range, offering the perfect ride for whatever you want to do on the water. This year it has been completely redesigned and uses a totally new construction. In recent years boards have been getting longer and longer, the new X-Ride can be ridden 3cm longer than you would normally chose. The extra length results in more rocker and a straighter outline which gives the rider vastly improved ride quality and early planing characteristics. They also have more grip in the water and better control in choppy conditions. This new shape and length combine with the specially designed freeride fins to give you unsurpassed upwind performance and grip. Whether you are into freeriding, big air, freestyle or smashing waves the X-Ride will deliver. Being so good at carving makes it especially fun in the waves and lots of riders enjoy playing in the surf on the X-Ride. Tech & Features
Absorption Flex Tip
Based on a unique new construction of the board in the tip area, the scoop rocker line ensures better response to changing situations. In underpowered riding, the board remains flat for fast planing. In overpowered riding, the scoop bends and provides for an increased level of control and stability. The flex tips absorb shocks and enable soft landings.
Medium Flex
North Medium Flex boards combine competition performance with every day comfort. Precise adjusted materials offer control, power and comfort in just the right way to feel good in every possible riding condition.
Torsion Flex
The special shape of the 3D cap allows torsion of the long axis of the board. This gives them more grip on the heel-side edge, rich and smooth landings, a direct drive and better upwind performance.
Mono Concave Bottom

The Track System
“The Track” is the new mounting system of our twintips. Two sliders made out of reinforced plastic are laminated into the boards during the production process. 2014 North Vario Straps
The Vario Combo Straps and Pad set returns for 2014, now an integral part of the North Kiteboarding collection. Designed for simplicity, the Vario footstrap system works great with not only North kiteboards, but will also fit a miscellany of different boards and thread spreads.
2014 North Entity Straps
The North Kites NTT strap system is widely named the "most customizable strap on the market". With the entity strap you can adjust virtually every aspect of the strap. From pad density to strap angle and everything in between, the NTT delivers for any foot shape with just a little tweaking.
