The 2013 Celeritas* (for pronunciation, think combining celery, minus the "y", with "itas", like from margaritas) has been upgraded to be a perfect modern surf machine. While still maintaining its short "trunk" style and aggressive concave, the new Celeritas features an updated curvy outline with a redesigned thumb tail that provides more surface area allowing the board to get extra lift and control in between turns.

What is EPX?
Good question. According to Slingshot, EPX is a new construction design that "combines our latest laminated sandwich construction with our high end EPS foam core and our new Fluid X Vibration Dampening System. This combination creates a high performance board that is strong and easy to use. The EPX construction also features our new graphic technology that incorporates vivid colors making the board a true piece of art. The EPX construction is an ideal option for riders looking for a durable board with the latest technology to improve their riding."
What is Fluid X?
Again, from Slingshot, "Fluid X was born from the ski and snowboard industry. It made sense to look toward progressive snowsports technology to provide state of the art dampening control to reduce vibration and create a clean and smooth feel throughout all our high performance boards. Fluid X also provides an anti-torsion property that runs from tip to tail and its visco-elastic stringer improves the dynamic behavior of the core construction that allows more flex, more response and the smoothest feel unlike anything you've experienced on a kite surfboard. With Fluid X, we finally manage to give our boards a Polyester feel with the durability of an epoxy lay up."
*In the event you were curious, Celeritas in a Latin word that translates as "swiftness" or "speed". It is thought to be the origin of the symbol c that denotes the speed of light, as featured in the equation E=mc².
