Aaron and Cado chat about the "Better Off Shred" package with the Slingshot Dart wing, pump, and Wind Carver skate longboard.

Aaron: So what's the first piece of the puzzle on this package?

Cado: The idea behind this package was to get people that may not live near the water out winging.

Aaron: So, just to give a good intro, or for somebody who is a skater, snowboarder, or somebody who already understands how to ride a longboard. Now they can just grab a wing for a pretty low cost with this package and go rip around for a bit.

Cado: Exactly. They can really get a feel for that power in the wing.

Aaron: And there are people that are not going to get in the water with a wing at all. They just don't have that desire to do that. They're just going to ride a landboard, a wing board, a longboard, or a skateboard, and this just happens to be a really awesome deck from Wind Carver.

Cado: And it's super fun.

Aaron: Yeah, you can get cooking along.

Cado: When I first looked at this package, I was wondering if this was even going to be worth it. Then I saw one of our shop guys here, Connor, just absolutely ripping. He had to be going really fast, just having a blast, doing transitions, doing all these fancy little moves and stuff, and that made me want to give it a rip, and I had some fun out there.

Aaron: From a wing handling standpoint, Connor has been on the water winging a little bit, and his wing handling skills are incredible because he's been utilizing it with this board. I can do it, but I'm nowhere near as graceful as he is. He's been picking that up really quickly. So if you're not looking to get in the water, grab one of these boards and one of these intro wings from Slingshot and just go have a blast. What's the package rate?

Cado: $699.

Aaron: So you get the board, the wing, and the pump. What size wings are we offering?

Cado: It ranges from 2.5 to 5m. Of course, you can give the shop a call if you're a bit confused on sizing. Yesterday we took a few guys out, all in the same weight range between 150 and 180 lbs. It was blowing about 15 miles per hour and we were on the 4.5m, and that seemed to work great for everyone. Everyone got some good rides and some fun.

Aaron: We should mention that we always recommend throwing a helmet on. Protect your noggin. Elbow pads and knee pads too, if you feel like it. That's up to you, but I would highly recommend throwing a helmet on. You can get going pretty quick.

Cado: This board is designed for some rough terrain, but obviously a big crack or a rock as you're ripping will not result in a very fun day.

Wing Skate Preview

Taken to the streets I was blown away with the wind carver board. The set up was easy and the board rides great. Having a little skateboard background is key for set up and maneuverability. The wheels are great for riding over rough terrain. The parking lot I tested the product on had cracks, sand covered patches and small stones but the board was able to go through all that with little worry. Some things you might want to know for riding the Wind Carver with a wing are;

• Clip on a helmet
• Find a open spot with wind
• Watch out for others constantly
• Grab some wind and ride

All the tools are included with the package, there is a set up video on our website that is easy to follow. I just got into wing boarding and this product helped me learn what to do with a wing while going fast. I was used to riding the Slingshot Crossbreed with limited turning but this was a great level up. I can now make tacks up and down wind, ride in figure eight patterns, and even put the wing to my back and fly straight downwind. Wind Carver Longboard
