DETAILS

Forget what you think you know about wings, the Unit D/LAB has arrived and sets a new benchmark of wing design. With over 15% in weight savings and 50% higher stiffness when compared to the original Dacron version, the performance of the Unit D/LAB will blow your mind.

Throwing convention out of the window, this is the latest offering carrying the prestigious D/LAB label which is synonymous with leading innovation and technology, breaking the boundaries of what was thought to be possible. The Duotone Laboratory uses the most cutting edge materials and design techniques, putting material and development costs aside with the sole focus on developing the ultimate product possible.

The Unit D/LAB is the first high-end wing to come out of the Duotone laboratory. Using the latest version of Aluula fabric in combination with new construction features reduces the weight and sets a whole new standard in lift, flex and response. The Unit D/LAB isn’t just a lighter version of the Unit; the performance has been significantly improved, allowing you to fly earlier, with more grunt getting you up on foil sooner. You’ll experience improved acceleration and higher upwind angles even in lighter winds. The wing generates incredible amounts of lift and power even in the slightest breeze, making foiling possible in close to no wind with the larger sizes while being able to fly higher, with extra hang time for jumps and additional lift throughout transitions.

The character of the Unit range is tailored for stable and effortless drift when riding waves and swell. With the comfort and control of our new rigid handles combined with the extra grunt and lift of the wing, the Unit D/LAB excels across disciplines from surfing waves, sending jumps all the way to freestyle and freeride.

The D/LAB version of the Unit is quite simply the best wing you can get your hands on!

    Nice wing!

I've had the Dacron version of the 6.5 for a year. I bought this D/Lab 6.5 for less weight in lighter winds. Its balance is great! And its high-wind ability was surprising--much better than the Dacron version of this wing. I'll be buying the 2023 5m when it's available. The D/lab 6.5 is only .2 pounds heavier than my 5m Dacron wing.

    very nice wing 6.5 dlab

Posted by karim on 2nd Nov 2022

Been using the 6.5 for a few months now and its getting more use than i thought. It handles gusts and higher winds really well for its size. At 210lb, i'm using this mostly in 10-15kn but if it picks up to 20kn its still very useable and i dont need to switch out. Downsides are the usual... doesnt come with the pump adapter, no leash, and the hard handles clunk against the board.

    5.5 D LAB

I could not be happier with this wing. I am an intermediate wing foiler. I can get on foil on this 5.5 in the same conditions as I could on my 6.5 V3 Sling Wing and it behaves much better in high winds. The wing is very stiff and direct. It is so light and easy to transition with. It was expensive but definitely worth the cost.

Duotone Dlab Wings 3.5 and 4.5

These are by far the best wings I’ve ridden to date but they are also different. The Pros: -the wings have really good grunty low end. I like this because it allows my to ride a smaller wing, yet getting over the hump of the start onto foil… -the wings have insane high end. I can always find the limiting factor for speed – whether the foil or the wing – but I’ve yet to find the ultimate high end of this wing… -the wings are stable – this is good and bad I suppose, although I’ve grown to appreciate it. -I really like the feel of the hard handles. They give me a much more direct feeling to the wing. -the wings are really powerful. -the wings are really, really stiff… The Cons: -the windows don’t work for me at all… -they don’t come with a leash… -they are expensive… -the hard handles bash your head and your board… -you can’t aggressively throw the wing around like others dues to it being so stable. They are stable which means they move slowly when doing manuevers. These wings are by far the best I’ve ridden and I already started ordering more sizes. In talking to many on the beach, most, but not all, that have tried have immediately ordered more and sold whatever they were riding. And that has been my experience as well.

    D/Lab

I’m a older experienced rider that is particular about his gear. I’ve owned and tried many different wings. These D/Labs are the absolute bomb. Balanced, powerful, lightweight and stiff. Ken Winner has nailed it in this wing. Yes, they cost more, but are worth the extra considering the added range and life expectancy made possible with these. And the two perfectly placed handles as opposed to 5-7 straps all over are a must try. Love these and look forward to many more sessions with them.
