Stand Up Paddle (SUP) Board Fitness Taking SUPing to the next level with SUP fitness classes. Indoor class Take the hottest fitness class by learning how to use your paddle board for a workout that incorporates strength, balance, flexibility, as well as perfecting your paddle strokes in an indoor warm environment with no fears of falling into a cold lake. May 10 - June 2, 2011 Tuesday and Thursday 6:30-7:30 No board? No worries! Rentals are available. 8 people max per class (Limit 5 w/ board rental - 10 Students max) cost: $150 w/ your own board, $240 w/ rental board Outdoor class The outdoor class will have the same format as the indoor class with the exception that it will be held on the beach and in the big lake. Depending on weather, the class may be moved to Spring Lake. This SUP fitness class will be held prior to the SUP Lesson/Demo clinic, so you will be able to demo 8 different boards without leaving the beach to find the perfect fit for your paddling enjoyment! A SUP enthusiaist that paddles the big lake and all of the inland lakes and rivers in the Grand Haven area, Kim is combining the sport of SUP with fitness. She quickly realized that the challenge of being ON the board would be a great way to incorporate balance and stability into a workout. She has designed a SUP fitness workout that works on balance, strength and flexibility while learning paddling skills. Kim is a professional lifeguard, CPR/AED certified, an avid swimmer, and will soon be certified as a PaddleFit instructor. Safety on and in the water is vital when participating in a water sport. She is also a track and field coach at a local high school, and teaches water and dryland group exercises at a large community aquatic facility. Kim's philosophy is that exercise should be fun...then you will stick with it! ![]() |
